Programmable NeuroLED lighting solution has brains, man
Joining the elite club of intelligent lighting solutions that are sophisticated enough to not be laughed at is NeuroLED. Truth be told, we're pretty far from understanding exactly how this contraption works, but we are told that the system is controlled by software written in Java and that it can be altered to react in different ways via toggle switches or wall-mounted touch panels. From what we can tell, the system can be used for pure entertainment, educating or even spicing up a nightclub, and considering that it can play nice with WiFi, remote access is also within the realm of possibility. That's about all the explaining we can do -- click on through to let the vid do the rest of the yappin'.

That music sounds like a slow dance version of "I'm Every Woman"

Always amuses me when projects brag about their software being made in Java. No one but masochists hack hardware in assembler anymore, and Java is no longer really considered a high level language. (Although no one but masochists hack in Java either, so they might as well have gone for assembler.)

Light Bright, Light Bright, turn on the magic of colored lights! Shining friends, shining bright, make a wish to say goodnight...

I remember taking off the front cover of my Lite Brite, seeing how the interior white plastic was all turning brown from the heat of the light bulb and thinking "this can't be right".
I was 5.

Yeah, Engadget totally fails for lack of Lite Brite reference.

Wow, they need a better promo video asap! Could be cool, but is it really all that new in terms of ingenuity or technology? I think i've seen the same thing at the "exploratorium" 2 years ago, and might i say, a way better presentation. This video is like a German garage made version of soul train, or a skit on how to have fun in the future. Only it's deathly boring.

This is why terrorists hate us. They eat grass soup and live in dirt huts, can't masturbate, and hate women. We have so much free time on our hands that when we're bored of cheeseburgers, jacking off, and tappin that ass, we make interactive lightbrights.

Neat. It's just like the first EyeToy games except without the suck.
