That probably costs almost as much as a tank of gas...!
^^ LOL! :-)
Go outside, sun, air, make some friends, talk to the opposite sex.
Computers blow.....don't waste your life. Pass it on.
"with a 1.8-inch version due in Q4."
Can we say, "Solid State iPod Classic" coming soon? I know Apple using Toshiba hardware, but man... how nice would that thing be? 96 more GB, no hard drive failure, FULL USE of the available memory... I'm drooling thinking about it.
cute chick.
yeah wish i could afford a SSD too. I'll settle for the pics instead. :(
"I'd just love to see what speed you could get with a few of these and the right RAID controller =)"
Then you will love this test of 9!! Mtron SSD's in a RAID 0 :

2 disks = 2x speed, 3 disks = 3x speed, 4 disks = 4x speed etc etc ..
way to go.no moving parts.bet on it.

A question for anyone who knows, that pertains to security:
How does one securely erase data off one of these SSD devices, in light of the wear-leveling design at the hardware level? Does a bulk eraser work?
Cost aside, this is pretty impressive, especially in a 1.8 in. Seriously, the MBA might actually be able to hold some movies now.
Why do you consider the model to be "ugly?" Her eyes a little too curved? Nose not Anglo enough...? Why is she "ugly?"
Admit it, you're just mad that she has a 256gb SSD and you don't!
I dunno, I thought the model was cute, but I have a thing for Asian girls that look natural. meh.
No Hard Drive Failure? Then you don't understand the technology. Unlike traditional hard drives, SSD memory is a destructive technology and has a limited number of writes. They try to minimize it with balancing but the fact still remains.
"Unlike traditional hard drives, SSD memory is a destructive technology and has a limited number of writes."
How is that unlike hard drives? Bearings don't last forever, you know. Hard drives wear out whenever they're powered up so they're even worse.
The real punch in the stomach is setting up two of these in a RAID. I believes you get much faster, probably around 2x as fast.
Well, this is about as worthless as a third nut.
Id like my iPod Touch to have this in it.
Although that would not happen within my lifetime.
Considering that my computer only has 40 GB of storage, I think that they should just build a computer around this. I, for one, would buy it if they did.
Wow this poor iTool's face must be pretty red right now. It's so funny that the Samsung ssd has been forgone in order to trash this idiot. He seems like one of those people that "trolls" around forums bashing PC's all day. I would like to know what type of Mac he has. I bet it is a G4. Further more the MB Air is a little better than worthless waste of money.
I'm still waiting for quantum computers and holographic storage. Comparatively, this SSD technology is already obsolete.
"To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete." -- Buckminster Fuller
I've Sony Vaio laptop with 64GB Solid dtate drive, so can i extand with it more solid state drive i mean more storage (internal)?
