XPERIA X1 specs get further detailed in new white paper
Sony Ericsson's white papers have already provided plenty of details on its much-anticipated XPERIA X1 handset, and it looks like its latest one is no exception, with it shedding yet more light on the device's specs. Most notably, Sony Ericsson has now confirmed that the device will ship with 256MB of SDRAM, in addition to 512MB of NAND Flash, and it's gotten specific about the device's battery life, which it says will clock in at 10 hours talk time using GSM or 6.5 hours using UMTS. That'll take a further dip to 3.1 hours if you're making video calls all the time, with 3.5 hours required to recharge the 1500 mAh lithium polymer battery once its drained. Hit up the link below if you're looking for some more reading material to bide your time until the device's supposed September release.

T-Mobile has definitely got to get with the program. Every other carrier's phones are really nice and T-Mobile's phone selection both blows and sucks. Ugh!!
@Urbalist
Yes, it is touchscreen.
It's a phone which has almost everything a phone aficionado like me dreams about. the price though...is giving me a heart attack. It's priced just under $1000 at most of the websites. I'll be spending almost 2wice what I get for a decent laptop nowdays. It's a great gadget..but if the iphone can do all that in half the price, SE's gotta up it's game, and lower the price!!
I'm no iphone fanboy for the record, I currently own a nokia n95, and had a samsung before it.
However, If nothing half decent comes out by the beginning of Q4 this year...I might just get the iphone.
I thought phone aficionado's want MULTI-touchscreens
dude...there are tons of things this phone can do and iphone cant
they cant be used as a ahliraious substitute for your own lips...
kepp going
i think im needed in the basement...
I hope it gets an Ubuntu mobile option..

Else I'll probably just stick to a laptop. May be a bit heavier, but I like being in control and not having to put up with garbage from redmond.
hey ethana, you like linux right?
..this reply system is... interesting. still..
Well, I'll assume my last post was eaten.
phanbouy: I've used some linux based OS'es that I didn't find usable at all; it would be more accurate just to say I like Ubuntu.
Yeah, BIG DIFFERENCE between a phone and a laptop.
Damm, Ubuntu doesn't have to friggin run on EVERYTHING. Get that through your thick skull. Windows Mobile in an excellent OS. Something tells me you're never used it.
Ubuntu doesn't run on everything, they just have a version for MIDs, netbooks (not announced yet), the PS3, and regular machines.
There is no one distro that runs on everything, but debian is probably the closest a person can get.
I've never used windows mobile, no. I don't want a cent of my money to support Microsoft, so it's pretty safe to say that I never will.
Nope. Thankfully it runs WinMo 6.1. NO news at all about Ubuntu Mobile. Don't know much about Ubuntu on a mobile, but WinMo 6.1 (and hopefully support for WinMo 7) will be great. Sony has always had Ericsson phones, but they never really done anything impressive until joining the WinMo side. Must mean WinMo must be great to work on.
The specs now show:
•Quad-band EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
•Tri-band HSPA X1a:(850/1900/2100 MHz) X1i:(900/1900/2100 MHz) )
Um, where is 1700 MHz for T-Mobile USA 3G? Am I missing something?
Your not missing it, the phone is.
the point your missing is that buddy it wont come to t-mobile in the US
in the days of yore, people spelled 'your' properly as "you're"
It's hilarious because the number of permutations is potentially huge.
How many pairs of pants does he have access to? Does he employ any means of mess making beyond the obvious? What about combinations of bod--
I'm done.

"there can be only one shiny Gizmo to worship!"
This is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. There may be others, but there can only be one that is the substance that dreams are comprised of. A pure beam of energy here to save the world. One to dine with the Gods, and feast on redemption. Only one to mystify and grace young maidens with my luminescence and majesty. One ravish haughty pride, and soar atop unbridled egos..It is a plague. One pilfer the souls of foolish men, and rob damsels of their innocence. One that has not been in 2000 years, what shalt not be forever more, One that is viewed as perfection. Narcissus reincarnated, a light headed youth floating on the winds of destiny. One called Nasferatu, that which defies death and demands the gracious philanthropy of time. Resistance is futile, subservience peasant, or be obliviated amongst the abyss.

This is great hardware, no doubt, but Windows mobile is utter crap. I hope to god they get Android on this thing or some other mobile linux derivative...
This is what is going to set apart the iPhone. Its going to have a great software platform, and to compete with that, these other phone manufacturers have got to get the Android platform booming!
Boom!
I could go for android or openmoko... qtopia perhaps.. How many mobile distros are there now?
This will be released to be used on AT&T's network T-mobile obviously isn't all that serious about 3G in the U.S. if it was it wouldn't be so late to release it
What carrier/s?
That's interesting... they have a Panels key instead of a Windows key...
Windows/start
What Chip is in there? Atom?
Oh GOD no
It's a mobile processor at 500 odd MHz, not a desktop thing.
Any one think they'll make a cdma version?
release date?
what? you spilled spaghetti inside your pants?
How'd they get the battery life so long? By contrast, my new i-mate has barely 4 hours talk time. I wonder what's going on with those newly designed batteries with a charge that supposedly lasts 10x longer than the standard battery.
256 ram ,seem se is gonna release a wm7 in the beginning of 2009.
thats the reason for 256,and since wm7 is having lot of graphics that need memory.
its the only phone i will go for in 2008.

X1 or HTC Touch Pro(Raphael). Which one is at&t getting, Both? and when!?!?
I think at this point I'd take the Raphael if it's interface is like the Diamond.
I prefer this over the diamond due to the keyboard. However, I am looking forward to the day when I can integrate with a voice recognition app, either on-board or remote, so that most of the email/SMS that I send can just be dictated and instantly translated to text. Audio can be sent but that's a lot of useless data. Clearly, some key entry is still required for when silence is required. Also, it'd be nice to be able to say to this device or an iPod player, "Play White Stripes Denial Twist" or "Play Playlist 60s funk" and have the music just kick on. These are features that would further transform how we interact with phones.
$1000.00 O_o (jaw drops!)
I really wanted to get this phone but not for that kind of bank!
That's not such a bad thing tho... Cause Micro SD is like $5 per 2gb nowadays...
