Columbus reveals pocket-sized V-900 GPS data logger
Compared to those bulky alternatives out there, Columbus' V-900 looks like a real gem. This diminutive GPS data logger appears to feature built-in Bluetooth, a microSD slot and bundled software that helps you map out those coordinates once you return home from that howling backpacking trip across Europe. Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to pricing / availability, but be sure and hit the read link if you're interested in a few more glamor shots.

I'm putting this in a suitcase and shipping it around the world with DHL.
please dont..
This unit has a spy mode, it will save you some bucks if you need to hire a PI on your wife.
exactly what i was thinking....
backpacking.... ha!
this will be used for one thing and one thing alone....
throw in some real-time tracking, and you've got yourself a deal :)
Columbus?....Magellan?..... I think I'll hold out for the Sacagawea
According to their site (cbgps.com), the the recommended price is RMB899, or roughly US$130. I don't know how that compares to similar products, but it seems to have a lot of features AND it is soo shiny!
This would be great for running... can't stand the fatty GPS watches out there!
haha, spy mode rocks, ill have to drop my current configuration of my gisteq system and try one of these. To me its about a few things, being able sensitive enough to acquire enough satellites, and the software bundled for tracking, geo tagging of photos etc.
small little write up I did about my exp with various gps units

Can anyone read enough Japanese to comment on the battery? If this thing takes a AA (looks too small for it) or a AAA (which might not have much juice, but Hey, I like standard / non-proprietary battery sizes), I'd be very tempted.

It has a built-in 1000mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. It runs from 13 hours to 30 days depends on what mode it is on. The website is in Chinese.
I think I'll stick with this one: http://www.semsons.com/wiwbmu3gpsre2.html. Only $95 and works with most mobile phones. It also has all of the features that this one has (minus the microSD slot), just not the same pretty look. I've been on the fence about getting it, only b/c $95 is still a lot just for a gps addon. :(
I've got a leadtek that is twice as fat... but works brilliantly
Meh wants one !!!
There HAS to be more to life than plugging gadgets in and out of the mains ...
I like this gadget, but I've got adaptor/charging fatigue. This functionality needs to be integrated into a camera. Too many gadgets to carry around.
Me like The Green Light =D It is nice ! (Y) (Y)
The BT-Q1000 and Q1000P are 72.2 (L) X 46.5 (W) X 20 (H) mm.
The V900 is 74 (L) x 43 (W) x 9.9 (H) mm.
Is 10mm in height really the difference between "bulky" and "diminutive"?
