iriver's Lplayer released, gas mask required

It's no secret that iriver's designs make us dissolve into deep lavender puddles of drool. Now this, the Lplayer dolled-up with some kind of ridiculously clever speaker stand attachment for watching your video desktop style. The 2-inch, QVGA device supports a full suite of codecs including MPEG-4 video and FLAC, OGG, MP3, and WMA audio. Available in up to 8GB capacities topping out in Korea for about $150.

2" screen. will anyone with any sense watch video on this?
renmimby @ May 29th 2008 7:55AM
Maybe it'll come with a magnifying glass
ZoomitUP @ May 29th 2008 9:16AM
That little plastic gas mask should connect directly to a frenzel lens to create the 150" big screen display... all you need are some cardboard boxes, duct tape and a room with zero ambient light.

Great. A 150", 240p display.
KC @ May 29th 2008 1:47PM
the 2" screen will make you feel like you're in a theater when you put it up to your nose and use it as a gas mask
gad get @ May 29th 2008 7:14AM
Dude, those earbuds look very uncomfortable! :p
intel352 @ May 29th 2008 10:34AM
agreed, they look as big as the screen itself :-)
Robin @ May 29th 2008 7:38AM
So ... you can either hear what is playing or see what is on screen? Nice.
ReggieXuk @ May 29th 2008 9:55AM
You can do both, it looks like it goes on the back.
DiscoCat5 @ May 29th 2008 7:52AM
i really do like irivers designs, but in all seriosuness, and im sure im not alone here, when will they release something that can / will better the ipod touch? (feel free to tell me if they already have, not 110% up to date with thier product range)
nicleT @ May 29th 2008 9:06AM
What's that thing on the back? A salt box?
Richard Lai @ May 29th 2008 9:57AM
For a moment I thought you're meant to stick the actual MP3 player into your ear!
UncoolJohn @ May 29th 2008 10:29AM
Are you my mommy?
JLTate @ May 29th 2008 12:12PM
Damn! Beat me to it.
Richard Lai @ May 29th 2008 1:39PM
My exact same thought. I was really annoyed when I found out that Doctor Who wasn't on last Saturday.
silverblackvoid @ May 29th 2008 11:47AM
great design. now when i carry this player in my pants, i'll also have a uber cool hard on.
Wwhat @ May 29th 2008 1:19PM
It's a clip-on speaker, you carry it in the backpack every idiots has to annoy others, I mean to be 'happening'.
Rick @ May 29th 2008 5:39PM
I thought it was a shower head mp3 player attachment. For video, I think you have problems when the ear buds are half the size of the screen. (or maybe it's your ears that will have problems)

The player is on sale now
http://www.warehouse123.com/ProductList.php?cat=PORT;PORT-AVP
Excellent price: 2GB = $82 / 4GB = $101 / 8GB = $141
Karma_prisoner @ Jul 26th 2008 12:35PM
Guy!
The thing in the back is a DOCK! and the white thing is the loud speaker, the player's photo here is with the dock in transparent plastic.
you can remove the dock and use it like a normal PMP and keep it in your pocket or attach the dock and use it for viewing videos on the table (dock with in built stand)
so please stop getting weird ideas!
gad get @ May 29th 2008 5:45PM
What would be the fun of that?
