SanDisk's 8GB Extreme III Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo clocks 30MBps
Beating Sony to the punch is SanDisk's new 8GB Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo card. The "Extreme III Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo" touts the most convoluted name in portable flash storage as well as 3x the performance -- 30MBps read and write -- of standard Memory Stick Pro Duo cards. As such, they are perfect for high performance DSLRs and camcorders. Available worldwide in June for $150.

Now we just need to pop 4 (or more) of these into a SSD and we are rocking! :P

The only problem is... Sony doesn't make any "high performance" DSLRs/camcorders... lol.

Sony's Alpha A700 is getting great reviews and generating good buzz in photography circles. Know what you are talking about before you ever talk about it.

And I though my Sandisk Exreme III 4gb SDHC Card was fast at 20mbps.

Would this work for PSP? It would ROCK!

Now if only Sony would drop the stupid format and embrace the SDHC standard, which typically costs half the price.

Man, I feel sorry for everyone who has to use memory sticks.
Prediction: Memory Stick is the beta tapes of today. The only difference is that it is an annoyingly slow death.
