Miss my dsnap
If it has better recording quality than cell phones I would say pretty cool.
Otherwise, it's too pricey (should really cost $15 or less).
Is the lowest model (EZ200) supposed to be up to 15 mins of high quality video, rather than the stated 30?
Here come the MySpace whores on YouTube!
here comes the EEE cam recorder!
good, but not great. the creative vado has similar features - with a rechargeable battery, more important to me than memory cards I think, unless youre going on vacation or something.
and the vado is less than a bill on ebay - not bad at all.
my Aiptek was doing more than this 6 months ago, takes SDHC cards (>2GB), rechargable and replaceable camera battery, fits those cool magnetic camera lenses, and shoots higher resolution pretty well. They even have a 1080 model out now. What's with all the designs that are less than what's on the market at equal to more costs? Are marketing guys stupid?
Test
Fail.
I ordered the EZ200 a few days ago for $86.99. Didn't get it yet though. I was puzzled why the EZ200 was selling for about $10 less than the EZ205 when the specs looked about the same, except that the EZ205 gives you the option to shoot in a super compressed longer playing low quality mode that no one would use any way. I wanted to make sure that the EZ200 and EZ205 had the same quality when in highest quality mode so I contacted RCA and asked...
"The two models (RCA Small Wonder EZ200 and EZ205) look the same except for color. I would like to know if the image and sound quality are the same for the two camcorders in their highest quality mode. Thank you."
Here's RCA's email back to me...
"Response (Lisa Hammel) - 05/30/2008 06:42 PM
Dear Gregg,
The HQ mode quality would be the same for the EZ200 and the EZ205."
So save yourself $10 and buy the EZ200 and use the saved $10 to buy a bigger 2GB MicroSD card.
I still haven't been able to find any reviews or video's posted with these new models though. I have a feeling that the quality is going to be about the same as the Flip Ultra.
Small Wonder? I'm sorry, but any product with that name merely reminds me of V.I.C.I. (Vicki)
Was I the only seven-year-old future geek who had a crush on her?
So if it reminds you of the girl of your childhood dreams that should be a good thing.
It reminds me of the worst sitcom in recorded history, so I think I'll pass.
All the reviews I've read comparing the The Flip to the Small Wonder (older models) say that The Flip has far superior video quality. I wonder if RCA has improved this with the newer versions, or if the firmware is still the same?
@Gregg
It is a good thing, but I'd be disappointed when it doesn't speak in her monotone voice... :P
If anyone's interested i nseeing some indoor/outdoor day/night videos shot with the RCA Small Wonder EZ200 take a look at my YouTube page http://youtube.com/user/greggh
So far, other than Gizmodo's comparison review, I think mine are the only videos taken with any of the Small Wonders that you can find on the web.
Can anyone with the EZ200/205 confirm the compatibility with microsdhc (as opposed to simply microsd)? What is the upper memory size limit? Also any comments/info on battery life??
Thanks.
