Free AT&T WiFi now at Starbucks
It all looks legit and final. AT&T and Starbucks have finally rolled out their free WiFi plan to Starbucks Card users registered with AT&T. In exchange for letting AT&T send you up to 4 emails per year, you get a single WiFi session of up to 2-hours per day at any of Starbucks' 7,000 or so US-based stores. Now get out of here, and don't forget your MacBook for some conspicuous posing and caffeine consumption.

I've never been inside a Starbucks because I just don't like coffee.
Or go to:
Wendy's
Bigby Coffee
Your public library
Any large apartment complex
Most college campuses
Denny's
IHOP
Old Country Buffet
Old Chicago Pizza
Burger King
Dunkin' Donuts
Kentucky Fried Chicken
Subway
Quiznos
Taco Bell
Jack in the Box
Popeye's Famous Fried Chicken
McDonald's (some charge, some are free)
Blimpie Subs & Salads
Dairy Queen
Sonic
. . . And many others!
Seriously, any restaurant that charges for WiFi is owned and operated by total assholes. With the huge number of competitors offering it for free (thus bringing in business), there's no reason to go to Starbucks and pay for it.
And if you're at all clever, you can grab a signal in any college town or decent-sized city, with all the people who have either open access or who just aren't smart enough to secure their network.
As to coffee-- Well, I prefer Bigby Coffee because the WiFi is free, the coffee tastes better, and drinks are served hot but not scalding, so you can drink them right away without damaging yourself.
You also don't get the attitude that you get at Starbucks (you know; The "buy our CDs and overpriced pastries" vibe) and the prices are sometimes better.
Starbucks = Cheaper than flowers when I am in trouble
....And I get something too!
I would happily go to starbucks if their coffee didn't task like ass.
.. or if they could help me learn to type.
There are significant connectivity issues occuring right now. There is a HUUUUGE bug in that if you sign up and use ANY capital letters you will get two different account names. The Starbucks account will retain the caps and the AT&T account will strip the caps out. So when you go and try to log in the accounts will NOT synchronize.
I spent about a hour between AT&T and Starbucks techs right now and nobody could get my account to work because of this problem and one side cannot change the other sides account info.
yay!
