Guitar Hero: On Tour DS bundle revealed, pocket rockers go "\m/"
Yo, portable rockers: Toys 'R' Us has let the Guitar Hero: On Tour DS Bundle details out of its proverbial bag. For $179.99, you'll get a limited-edition silver and black Nintendo DS, the Guitar Hero: On Tour game, and the Guitar Grip. The DS in question has a flaming Guitar Hero logo on its silver cover and hits stores on June 29, a week after the game comes out on its own. As far as the $179.99 price goes, don't flip out just yet: this is a fair deal given the DS runs $129.99 and the game will be $49.99 on its own. So, if lime green or cinnamon red isn't your thing and you're the last gamer without a DS, this could be the bundle for you.

I kinda want this, even though I really disliked the music in all of Guitar Hero games so far ,but the DS is lacking in true music games... Why hasn't Konami made any music game for the DS so far is beyond me.
Mile @ Jun 4th 2008 10:05AM
Maybe you're a candidate for a real guitar and then you can make your own sweet, sweet, music?
Ray @ Jun 4th 2008 10:52AM
Mile, people like you just don't get it.
gabe @ Jun 4th 2008 10:59AM
are u kidding?
have u played "elite beat agents"
or better yet the japanese counterparts
"Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan" 1 & 2
best games for the DS hands down.
BTW its too bad u need a grip for this game -
Ray @ Jun 4th 2008 11:09AM
I played EBA and Ouendan 2 and they are certainly the best DS games out now. I'm just waiting for EBA 2.
Hellios @ Jun 4th 2008 12:16PM
Of course I played EBA and Ouendan, that's why I said DS needs some true music games, anything from Konami, like Beatmania or even DJ MAX
Hold McGroin @ Jun 4th 2008 1:58PM
You didn't like anything from any of the GH games? It must suck to only like crap. Why not just move to Japan, pretend the girls there like you, and listen to whatever crap-of-the-week is popular there?
At least that way we wouldn't have to deal with your constant whining.
Yuri @ Jun 4th 2008 3:49PM
Hold, chill out.
Stop being such a fanboy. There's fanboys, and there's people who need to get over obsessions.
Honestly, I didn't like guitar hero either. It's sad that many other rhythm based games fell through which had just as much, and often more than guitar hero did.
I play the guitar and I hated guitar hero. I love rock music and I hated guitar hero, I'll continue to hate guitar hero. It's not as amazing as people claim.

AaaLLRIiiGHT! ROCK OoUuTthht

The logo on the back makes the DS look really tacky.
El Capitaine @ Jun 4th 2008 3:29PM
yeah....is it permanently affixed to the console, or is it just a sticker I can peel off?
Please be the latter....
Nick @ Jun 4th 2008 10:30AM
The DS already looks tacky though, a few stickers just aid its failing.
Josh L @ Jun 4th 2008 10:03AM
"Pocket rockers" sounds kinda dirty...
Ray @ Jun 4th 2008 10:54AM
Wasn't "Pocket Rockers" a mini 8-track for kids?
OddyOh @ Jun 4th 2008 11:38AM
That might have been "Pocket Rockets"...but I'm not sayin' that's any better!
Ray @ Jun 4th 2008 1:12PM
Found Pocket Rockers:

That's an amazing article.

i got escorted out of a movie theater once because i was rockin' in my pocket a little too hard.
Pochi @ Jun 4th 2008 10:17AM
Now you can look like a douchebag anywhere - not just in your living room.
Flashpoint @ Jun 4th 2008 10:18AM
I'm suprised they don't make ROCK BAND for DS.
You already got the guitar attachment.
All you need is a drum pad attachment (with two styluses)
and the built in Mic.
and then you use the WiFi to play with nearby people.
Vic the One @ Jun 4th 2008 10:55AM
If you see my pocket rockin', don't come a-knockin'!
d0od @ Jun 4th 2008 10:59AM
errrrm cool?
Phil Ringsmuth @ Jun 4th 2008 11:23AM
Um, I wouldn't say that you "get" the Guitar Grip as a part of this bundle, you get that when you purchase the game. There really isn't a way to *not* get the grip, so why point it out as a feature of the bundle?
Rainier @ Jun 4th 2008 3:23PM
I agree. Shouldn't it read "...the Guitar Hero: On Tour game with Guitar Grip."
giuliop @ Jun 4th 2008 11:35AM
$129.99 + $49.99 = $179.98. And you call $179.99 a fair "deal"?
kal326 @ Jun 4th 2008 12:34PM
Its a penny convenience charge, beats ticketmaster any day. Granted you would think that a bundle would save you money, that is unless its a special edition color bundle with a game made by Konami.
kylekincer @ Jun 4th 2008 12:21PM
You guys all need to learn how to play a 5 fret guitar!
Rainier @ Jun 4th 2008 12:37PM
My guitar has 24 frets...what's this 5 fret you're talking about? =P
Jon @ Jun 4th 2008 1:53PM
The Guitar Hero "guitar" I think is what he was talking about. But seriously have any of you heard about the Guitar Rising game? Its like guitar hero but with a real guitar, and supposedly will teach people something about playing real music. Thats the one I am really looking forward to!
eddy @ Jun 4th 2008 1:03PM
Here's a question...I have an original DS, not a DS Lite (can't justify buying a new DS when mine is just fine). Will I have a problem connecting the guitar grip?
velocitySTRIKE @ Jun 4th 2008 2:12PM
No, it fits.
TavisJohn @ Jun 4th 2008 1:53PM
Maybe it is just me... But the whole point of Guitar Hero is to "play" a guitar... And with people paying a small fortune for the perfect "AXE" I do not understand why anyone would want this..
It looks NOTHING like a guitar.
So am I the only one who thinks that this is just to milk the Guitar Hero name?
gt2378b @ Jun 4th 2008 2:13PM
It's just you. The rest of us want to "play" a game.
This is a game.
zeedee892 @ Jun 4th 2008 2:28PM

fgpx78 @ Jun 5th 2008 5:51AM
But...where is the fun with just 4 buttons? :|
SteveJ @ Jun 5th 2008 12:58PM
I'm interested in the game (not the bundle - I already have a DS Lite, and I'm not sure I'd want the logo on my DS anyway... though the silver/black color scheme is nice) even though it seems to take a lot of heat from most people. I ride the train to and from work every day, and this would be another fun game to have for that ride. No, I won't be yelling "Rock Out" into the mic. I'll be using the buttons for star power (the face buttons have been shown to work, but I hope the L/R buttons work too, since they naturally lay right at your thumb.) As far as 4 buttons versus 5... I've yet to be able to play the console game with 5 buttons anyway. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to do it. I'm just not that good, though I enjoy playing it. What's a shame is that they didn't incorporate a tilt-sensor into the grip. Why not?
mandude268 @ Jun 8th 2008 12:58AM
wtf the Guitar Hero: World Tour full bundle costs $10 more than this
