Softbank to sell (UMTS 3G) iPhone in Japan

Japan's third-largest mobile phone operator now has rights to Apple's iPhone. As has been the norm recently, the announcement is a one-liner without any details related to exclusivity (NTT DoCoMo and KDDI still can has a chanceburger) or model... though it should be noted that Softbank is a W-CDMA (UMTS 3G), not GSM/EDGE carrier. Softbank only says that they'll be selling the iPhone "later this year."
does this mean that i could buy a Japanese iphone and potentially have it work with verizon or sprint, cause of thats the case ill surely get one.
All of my Japanese friends are super excited about the iPhone coming here! My 2 cents is that it will be a huge hit here in Japan. The Japanese don't really care about all the stuff their phones can do anyway. It's all about having the "right" phone and I think the iPhone will be it!
Funny to read that Iphone is lacking the 1seg video TV, look at the poor quality of the Japanese TV, who needs to see that on a phone...., what people really needs, are open application platform, we want more and more application for the phone, Japanese had a chance but wasted it to be leader in the Mobile phone, in the last 2 years, nothing new from the japanese mobile phone market, they just got stuck, nothing new, the Iphone will blow up the market.
Got the new iphone 3G on the second day of it's release but sending mail has been a constant challenge there is no attachment for photo's you have to send it from your gallery. And many mail return when i send to Au
Docomo. and sometimes yahoo.
The staff here in Osaka have no clue about the phone it's super frustrating when you know more about the phone then they do. They tell you to go to apple store but i didn't buy it from Apple shop they keep sending me to apple shop,its not there problem ,train the staff so far apple has helped me with everything soft-bank has been absolutely useless . Is the President to cheap to get sufficient training for the staff,the phone was over 80,000 en it least give your customers some help
i bought iphone 4 days ago but until now icant use it properly. since im not japanese but i live here in japan im having difficulties in understanding the language and most japanese cant even speak japanese. i wonder why i cant send msgs using iphone or any other phones with this sim card and why my iphone cant connect to the internet what seems to be the problem???
if you still dont understand this i would be very glad to return the iphone and return to me my money.
