Still the equivalent of $2,350 over here in 'rip off Britain'.
bk7 @ Jun 6th 2008 6:31AM
why do we never get any vouchers :(
Tim Brown @ Jun 6th 2008 6:42AM
Because our tech suppliers suck
David @ Jun 6th 2008 9:07AM
We have some decent custom system builders, but then you can run them out of a garage..
When it comes to brands producing unique equipment we have nothing.
and that makes me a sad Panda
gad get @ Jun 6th 2008 9:44AM
I'm a sad giraffe!
MARSHAK @ Jun 6th 2008 11:20AM
can you brits not just import from USA or Canada? or does it work out to be the same after shipping and tariffs?
sinai @ Jun 6th 2008 1:28PM
@bk7 - because they're called COUPONS. Take that Old-America!
tyler @ Jun 7th 2008 1:03PM
That makes me a saaaaaad panda..
tyler @ Jun 7th 2008 1:05PM
haha.. shit.. I didn't see someone wrote that already..
survey says? i'm an idiot!
alpha @ Jun 6th 2008 6:14AM
I just checked the specs and it does look very appealing with built-in tuner, 802.11n, bluetooth, office 2007 etc. Why don't they come up with some 24" variant? I refuse to go down the size of my screen....
Dan Heath @ Jun 6th 2008 6:25AM
shame it doesn't come with an e6550 like the UK ones...
ahdok @ Jun 6th 2008 6:45AM
Why is it that you can't get electronics in just plain old "red"?
Si @ Jun 6th 2008 6:46AM
I just don't like those speaker wings on the side. Really don't do it any favours.
gad get @ Jun 6th 2008 7:21AM
Hmm, which "One"?
gad get @ Jun 6th 2008 8:11AM
You know, cuz there's the Acer One, too?
... three, four, five...
El Taco @ Jun 6th 2008 1:24PM
and a Gateway One
bolezhinkov @ Jun 6th 2008 3:11PM
what is it with one? there are dozens of other numbers.
gad get @ Jun 6th 2008 11:03PM
But there's only one one.
Rogue_Genius @ Jun 9th 2008 11:17AM
@ bolezhinkov
I can't tell if you're joking or not, so I'll go ahead and tell you: the 'one' lines are referencing the "all-in-one" nature of the units. You have a monitor, CPU, optical drive and ports all combined into ONE piece of equipment. Hence the Dell, Gateway and whomever else jumping on the bandwagon.
Beastage @ Jun 6th 2008 7:26AM
The XPS one needs a refresh tho, updated specs (obviously higher price) so it can compete with the imac
Kobe_No_Means_No @ Jun 6th 2008 7:57AM
$1,200 for a desktop... integrated inside the LCD so you have to throw away not only the computer but also the screen in 3 years? What the hell... I wouldn't even pay that for a laptop.
Some Kid @ Jun 6th 2008 8:03AM
First of all, the XPS One will never compete with the iMac, though it is based on the some princible
and will they figure out that they need to make this thing VESA 75/100 compatible
and dell hasnt even really made up its mind if they are going to keep XPS or just switch entirely to alienware
a comp like this with a little green guy as the symbol would be pretty cool though!
But this is a kinda good deal, but they need to learn from apple and figure out they need to start at 1199 anyways
and because they are discounting the Product Red One, doesnt that mean that less money is going to aids research?????
shame on you dell
gad get @ Jun 6th 2008 8:13AM
Unless... more people buy.
parphat @ Jun 6th 2008 12:18PM
The same amount of money would got to AIDs research. They cannot say "we are going to donate this much if you buy this machine" and then discount their AIDs donation because they are discounting the machine. That would be a lawsuit right there, and that's probably the last thing Dell wants to deal with.
Commonsense might do you some good there. I suggest you find some and start using it.
tyler @ Jun 7th 2008 8:21PM
So Dell should start doing things like Apple because Some Kid said so?
JohnPQ @ Jun 6th 2008 8:50AM
AIO computers suck. That includes the iCrap, I mean iMac.
gad get @ Jun 6th 2008 9:48AM
It's almost certain judging from your post that you've never used a modern Mac of any kind and are a simple Apple-basher up to the usual mischief. But that's OK, because nobody takes fanboys and haters seriously anyway.
GenBanks @ Jun 6th 2008 8:53AM
Where can I get that red background on the screen in the picture? It's nice, but I can't find it.
Tony @ Jun 6th 2008 2:10PM
I found it along with other (RED) wallpapers from Dell, here:
http://www.tipandtrick.net/2008/windows-vista-product-red-signature-wallpapers/
Scroll down to see it, the large version is in a RAR file on the site.
David @ Jun 6th 2008 9:01AM
Thanks for subsidizing my new compy, AIDs sufferers of Africa.. I guess you can't take it with you eh..
David @ Jun 6th 2008 9:02AM
You have to find a cure for AIDs first *places faith in Mario avatar*

Call me when its free...those speaker wings are a deal-breaker at any price.
happy_penguin @ Jun 6th 2008 10:08AM
I just don't believe that PC users in general are interested in the all in one design. Some things translate successfully from Mac to PC and vice versa, some things don't. Besides that, I don't think the XPS One is all that attractive.
Bender @ Jun 6th 2008 10:29AM
I don't even know the point of this thing other than saving a small bit of space. my sister has an entry level XPS and i gotta admit for what it's good for it's not worth a penny. an integrated "craphics card" that can't even play counter strike and you can't replace parts on your own or upgrade? come one now with that money you can buy an AMAZING laptop if you want to compare specs side by side. I have an XPS M1530 and all i upgraded was the hard drive to 7200 RPM and it actually came with a dedicated graphics card! why would anyone drop that kind of money on an all-in-one that has inferior performance than a 1,000 USD laptop of the same family? does it make sense at all? do what i did and get an xps 1530 and a 24 inch samsung monitor for it. you'll still pay less and get more!
Razor1973 @ Jun 6th 2008 10:52AM
Looks are subjective, but come on... This is by no means a top of the line gaming PC. Core 2 Duo E4500??!?! 2GB only and 667 MHz?!!?! Sorry. Total pass.
engadget @ Jun 6th 2008 10:57AM
2GB? according to the page it's only 2MB.... ;)
I Cook on My Notebook @ Jun 6th 2008 11:11AM
Why don't I just buy the XPS M1530 with better features?
And more portability, and shoddy dell parts.
Robin @ Jun 6th 2008 11:34AM
Wow, this thing is ugly!
Jeff P. @ Jun 6th 2008 12:50PM
Ugly huh? Then I guess you think that 99.99% of the monitors out there are ugly seeing as this is basically a monitor with a computer built in. I actually think it's quite attractive. Knock that price down to about $800 and I'd jump.
El Taco @ Jun 8th 2008 11:23AM
I tried it, but It didn't work, said that that coupon wasn't for use with this product. I tried to buy a basic XPS One (RED).
BoBoTheChimp @ Jun 9th 2008 3:19PM
Fuck me sideways, I just bought one of these things literally LAST week!
