iCall enables seamless GSM to WiFi switching on iPhone
VoIP has been ushered onto the iPhone in quite a few incarnations, but we'd wager than none of 'em are as useful as iCall. Said application is currently in beta form, though a release isn't quite ready for the public at large. Put simply, it enables iPhones to switch from GSM to WiFi (when WiFi is nearby, of course) on-the-fly in order to save cell minutes and bypass the hassle of manually changing over. Interested? We thought you'd be -- hop on past the break to see a demonstrative video of the app in action, and keep a close eye on the read link for a sure-to-surface-soon download.

but will it seamlessly switch from WIFI to GSM?
that is the question
i think the new blackberry pearl for Tmobile does this .. and has the added benefit of nto waiting until you answer the question of whether or not you want to switch .. it just does it .. i assume ..
it was in this engadget article: ok i just search 17 pages of engadget and i can't find the article .. if i find it i'll post later .. but i swear i read it!!! i swear!!

As a devout blackberry user I'd never trash it but wow, the interface looks pretty nice compared to the T-Mo and similiar hotspot@Home services. Nice Design!
Now I wish this would come out for my blackberry.
Um... stop wishing and go get a Curve or Pearl II on T-Mobile.
Sorry guys.. But iCALL is not entirely free:
1) *free calls are limited to 5 mins per call in the U.S.A
2) To lift the limitation you have to do "free upgrade" to iCALL pro which will ask for a credit card and when you give it a credit card it will charge you $14.95 - Bummer..
- I suspect that the iCALL for Iphone will have simillar restrictions, er.. catch.
