HTC Touch Diamond store spotted in Malaysia
The HTC Touch Diamond is hitting shores world-round, and this store in Malaysia is making a big deal of things with a full selection of accessories, alluring attendants, and what appears to be a permanent address. If the touchscreen and Opera browser don't get you, the shiny displays certainly will. Follow the read link for more pictures of the new store.

I like the phone a lot! If I was up on my current contract I would consider buying one of these.
Toss the Touch Diamond. Keep the alluring attendants. If they were giving those attendants away with every Touch Diamond, HTC might actually get a few guys to buy one.
Hot malaysian girl FTW!
if the iphone had a penis, and if i had to pick out one person in this world who i knew that wud suck it dry, it be steffen jobbs
What a nice touch!
I C WUT U DID THAR
So which carrier if any is getting it in the us?
any. it's a carrier-free place here in malaysia. Any phone, Any carrier. Unlike the US, you're locked into your carrier.
A very tempting phone. But the bad battery life and 4gb of internal memory is a turn off for me. Will have to wait and see what the Xperia X1 have in store.
nice diamonds =)

Its non-GPUness is killing me. Thats where the iPhone really has it beat. Although I'm still happy with my $100 Touch :D
Um, there is actually hardware video acceleration on the Touch Diamond, so it's probably just your RSI killing you.
Slow GUI.
"Swipe your thumb, wait a sec... wait for it... there it is. Now you can view the next photo."
that is was I was thinking. Visually it looks amazing, but like more ouch interfaces, they seem to be slow if your really in a hurry. I love the Samsung P2, but after the novelty of the touch screen wore off, I almost regretted getting s a touch screen device, the big screan seemed kind of pointless since it only had 8 gigs. Of course the zen v plus 8gb went off the market as soon as I figured that out so I was kind of screwed. Hopefully touchscreen GUI will become good enough to allow for the speed of tactical, because until then, I am kind of uninterested in touchscreen.
Was this at the "Engadget" store?
http://www.engadget.com/2006/04/08/the-engadget-store/
no, can't you tell the difference??
@Josh: sigh, next time I'll put a smiley face at the end of my lighthearted comments, just for you. :-)
she's got some jacked up teeth
... say all you can about that fruit company in California, but a year after their entry, every cell phone looks different, works differently, even sell differently. That's quite something.
In America....
That's because they are EXPERTS at marketing. No one has them beat. Their actual products are usually only so-so, but their marketing beats all. Why would I want an MP3 player that can't play OGG files and requires me to use iTunes, which isn't available on Linux, unless I want to use an unsupported third-part app? Why would I want a phone that is horribly locked down and requires hacks to make it useful? Why would I want to buy a smartphone without 3G in this day and age? I wouldn't. But people do. Apple is a serious threat in nearly all of their endeavors now because of their expert marketing. A lot of companies could learn a thing or two from them.
"Buy Apple! All the cool kids are doing it!"
You guys both have good points.
So you don't want those beautiful Asian girls?
GREAT! I'll take them both, then...
The Curve shopping mall?
its lowyat plaza
Shame they won't take you.
Phones or Girls, that's the question...
but will them blend? that's the question.
Taipei, Taiwan : Official launch date is supposed to be the 16th of June. Can already pre-order.
Steve Ballmer is an idiot. But I wouldn't gloat about market share until you reach at least half of Symbian's world market share.
I think there are about a billion reasons why Ballmer is not an idiot. 15 billion to be more precise.
It is part of his job to downplay the competition.
It looks like a very fancy, but temporary, booth.
yes, very true.
Good call, Liam.
I mean it says front and left "Lot G-27A" which doesn't sound like an address.
One of the girls is wearing a lanyard/badge.
And both girls look like booth babes trying to get passersby into the booth.
Sorry, freedomzaft11, looks like it's not a store. But thanks for sharing the pics of the girls. That was fun!
noope. in malaysia you number shops by "lot....."
it's in low yat plaza.
Why don't American cooperations higher young attractive women to stand in their stores and look pretty so that mouth watering idiots like me buy their product?
Probably because "highering" somebody makes no sense whatsoever.
I like how my reply to this disappeared magically.
I replied, although I don't know where it went, "Slaps self*
That place actually attracts many tourists. that's why maybe they are "highering" young attractive women.
the hottest phone of the year!No doubt. Hackers and Modders can't wait to get their hands on this lil beast. Yo dude that said 4gigs of storage is a turn off for u? Are turn off with a computer with 4TB of harddrive too? Your a pathetic loser.
I tried to read your post and gave up....
i think jethro sets a new record for dumb here. at least his name's appropriate
I think I just got a tumor trying to figure out what the hell he's talking about.
I think I'll pass on this...
I'm more interested in the Touch Pro or the 3G iPhone.
Does anyone else find it pathetic that every time clak posts something he types a random quote as his signature? I mean is it really worth the time and effort to reinforce how big of a jackass he truly is?
ugh... quotes taken out of context...
"There's no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant market share. No chance," said Ballmer. "It's a $500 subsidized item. They may make a lot of money. But if you actually take a look at the 1.3 billion phones that get sold, I'd prefer to have our software in 60% or 70% or 80% of them, than I would to have 2% or 3%, which is what Apple might get."
He is referring to the worldwide market of about 1 billion phones per year (which Steve Jobs referenced in the 2007 keynote, as he hoped for 1% or 10 million phones sold in 2008). So as Ballmer said the iPhone might get 2 or 3%, he was not short-changing the iPhone at all.
... but ultimately, what does Steve Ballmer have to do with the release of the HTC Touch Diamond?
give
Ballmer's billions only prove 2 things:
1) it's good to be Bill Gates' college roommate
2) Monkey Boy apparently doesn't have a gambling problem
Can't wait for this thing
Touch Diamond is perfect for my girl. The phone looks sexy and is slim and light. I would have the Touch Pro as I do a lot of emailing on the phone and wouldn't bother to much about the extra size with the keyboard.
