One of Samsung's
worst kept secrets (if we can even call it that) has finally been "announced" by the company, and we're guessing the timing here isn't coincidental. Nevertheless, the Windows Mobile 6.1-powered i900 Omnia features quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE support, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, a built-in accelerometer, WiFi module, USB port, FM tuner, Bluetooth, 3.2-inch 400 x 240 resolution display and a 5-megapixel camera (with smile detection and geotagging). An 8GB and 16GB version will soon be available, and prospective buyers can expect to see Sammy's own TouchWiz user interface loaded on. Reportedly, the handset will be available later this month in undisclosed areas of the globe (probably after being showcased at CommunicAsia), while Europe is expected to see it in July. Hands-on photos await you in the read link.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh yesss..the phone of the century..xperxia is taking too long to release and now samsung has created a counter attack with this model..im gonna go for this everything you want is here..and has a good battery life of course..hello samsung!! Gudbye nokia and SE..hope they wont make this so much expensive according to Sntradersonline.com it will b around $720
Already you can see that the interface is going to be a junked-up piece of trash! OMG! I SO don't want 1 of these!
Why does it seem that American phones, yes including the iPhone, is behind in terms of features and playing catch up?
Now I definelty know which phone I need to buy.
HTC Touch Pro
Apple Iphone 2
Samsung i900 omnia (i907 for ATT is rumored for release and if it is ATT will be better than any phone company)
I can have insurance on the ones att release just in case something happens to my iphone.
This is a strangely spec-ed device. It comes strong with a 5mpxl autofocus camera with face and smile detection, native divx/xvid support, microSD card slot, 624 Mhz CPU, FM radio, TV out and everything else noted above.....then they go with a weak 240x400 dispaly, and only 128Mb RAM, 256Mb ROM. I don't get it, maybe the RAM/ROM is enough when you have a 624Mhz CPU. This could have been a killer phone.
Xperia it is then.
Hard to choose:
-HTC Touch Pro
-Samsung i900 Omna
-SE Xperia X1
-Mwg Flame II
-MWg Atom VI
...Something is wrong... I don't see the word "Apple" anywhere in his post... Ok, ok really funny... Who hijacked clak's username and is being reasonable on it? I mean, I hate stupid fanboy zealotry as much as the rest of you, but seeing clak saying something nice about something that doesn't have glowing fruit on it is just...bizarre!
The specs on the Samsung are clearly superior to those of the 3G iPhone, so there's no way I'm chosing an iPhone over this.
However, does anyone know what the main differences are between the Samsung i900 Omnia and the Samsung SPH-W4200? The interface looks very similar between the two. All I know so far is that the SPH-W4200 has a T-DMB TV tuner built-in (which I really want), but only has a 2MP camera (compared to the i900's 5MP).
It doesn't have an air conditioner or carpet!
when this phone is coming out in canada anyone know abt that?
Can you hook up external usb hardrive to it, and will it be able to power the external usb hardrive?
And where the %@% are the TV out specs. it would be nice to carry around mini external usb hd with media files on it and be able to access it with my phone tv out and audio out. I mean I guess I could or maybe I'm wrong but access desktop remote on this phone to my computer to access and play all my media files via tv out and audio out. enh?
