Apple stores go down all over the world

What could Apple possibly be announcing today that would cause a whole bunch of its international stores (Australia, Taiwan, Singapore, etc.) to go down? And what's with that new iPhone tab showing up on those sites? We're so confused. Hold us.Update: Rolling outage now fully global.

http://www.singtelshop.com/ is down and only up after steve keynotes. :) it is 10th of june, 2100 GTM+8. Another 22 hours to go.
It's only the Apple Store that goes down, not their main website.

Hahahhaha. It's more than just a phone dude.
Chuck Norris just called me from his 4G iPhone and verrified that yes, even when the 4G network is finally launched in 2012 the iPhone is still, just a phone. Though he did also tell me that the end of the world comes in Dec of the same year marked by the fall of Apple when everyone realizes finally that it's just a phone.
The U.S. store is now down as of 11:16AM. What could they be updating? huh?
I just wanted to clarify that the entire apple website (www.apple.com) has never completely been down due to updates like these. They merely close the store link (http://store.apple.com). This is business as usual.

Once again some of you are not at all up to date with the iPhone stuff. The AT&T store had the iPhone's out of stock literally a week ago. Not exaggerating.
Have any of you thought that the moment that the 3G iPhone is released that speculation will begin on the 3rd iPhone? I bet it will....
first we will have to see the 4gb, 8gb, 16gb, 32gb,64gb 3g iPhone, then iPhone nano, 2gb, 4gb, 6gb then we will see 4g iPhone
Have any of yall thought about the fact that they could be adding stores too, for example Egypt is getting the iphone apple doesnt have an egyptian site or a site that is in arabic.
If Apple is lauching the iphone today you could expect places that dont have an Itunes store or an apple site to have one by 1pm today or when ever the iphone lauches in there markets since you have to activate it through itunes.

If ALL the stores globally are down, then that wouldn't be the iPhone causing it, it would be something like software. You really think the iPhone will be released to every single global market in 1 day? I just called my apple store to see if there was a line yet, and they said no. I asked if they knew what time they would be allowed to start selling the iphone and they said they have not received any new shipments with any new devices in it. So that would really suck if they actually weren't selling it today. Unless they could synchronize every shipment to the apples stores all at the same time.

Just because the iPhone isn't going to ship today doesn't mean the store won't be updated with the latest model, info and pricing.
