Random flickr feeds aren't the typical way for hot new Nokias to be discovered out in the environs, but hey, who are we to question a good thing when we see it? Pictures of one totally unknown Nseries have emerged -- alleged to be the N79 -- showing a sublime S60 candybar in a pair of colors. Next, we have more of the
just-scooped N85, including some of a white version, so we're definitely feeling more confident by the minute that it's the real deal and not some ridiculously sophisticated fake. Last but certainly not least, we have some shots of the XpressMedia 5800 affectionately known as the
"Tube," a device that'll likely come to be Nokia's first to use
S60 Touch. This one is Vodafone branded (doesn't really surprise us, we guess) and features a 3.2 megapixel sensor with Carl Zeiss optics, a stylus, and the key to our hearts. How much longer do we have to wait for these, Nokia?

What the heck are they thinking? This must be about desperation. Well at least a stylus is good for poking out someones eye if they irritate you. In this day and age, nobody, but nobody uses a stylus on a handset. This is so Nintendo DS. And even that seems a little whack.
Iphone might be otherwise great but the 480px resolution is simply too little. I do not want to zoom webpages all the frickin time.
Maybe this little puppie has the same gorgeous 800x480 screen as N810 does. Add touch scrolling of web pages.. mm.. sweet..
The stylus will be a godsend for clicking those tiny links on webpages. Try hitting em with your big ol thumb.

It might be optional but it also means the "Tube" is most likely a dated, non-capacitive screen. So while it may be optional, chances are you'll almost always be using it instead of your fingers.
Not actually. Vidoes about S60 TS already showed us that it's by far mostly finger based. You only need that stulys for handwriting and for some documents.
Thought it does bother me too. Nokia has the problem that they cant make dump phone like iphone they still need to keep S60 as smartphone as older where and not just media player that iphone mostly is. Hopefully it will only be needed for business use(that's what they where saying, but we will see it after all those S60 TS devices start popping out).

A stylus just means you can tap more precisely. I never understood why a stylus is so blasphemous -- it works fine for me. Having finger control in addition to stylus control is the best solution in my opinion -- that way, you're never frustrated with your fat fingers (I actually have skinny fingers, but they're fat enough to get annoying when trying to tap something precise) and you're never frustrated with having to dig out the stylus just for a quick tap.

I guess with all this Nokia is desperate comments are here just because we got overload of Apple fans today in here, but i cant see the prob with stylus either. Like those S60 TS vidoes showed there's no need for it, but it was used for handwriting and some business stuff probally.
Anyways i'm not going to buy this i'm waiting for next S60 TS devices to be released after this(after all this is new S60 platform so we will se many TS phones from Nokia in the end of this year and in 2009). While waiting those i'm getting the N95 replacment.
I think i'm going to pass this one and wait till the feature packed Nokia TS device comes out. I believe it was rumoured that those both devices where getting tested at the same time so maybe we will get that feature packed shortly after while this stays as entry level S60 phone.
The four digit model number (as opposed to Exx/Nxx) suggests the phone might be pretty cheap.
Well alot of comments in articles about other phones where about clones of the iPhone. And sometimes I don't care if they look good. But really, this phone really gets an award for being the ugliest wanna-be iPhone. Nokia really should get some better product-designers fast!
