Why is everyone so bent out of shape? This is good news if you want the phone...and NOT news if you don't. If you don't care about the phone, then go find an HTC message board somewhere.
Yeah, rather than posting in an Apple message board. :\
No mms still..i have to frigin' get all of my contacts email addresses just to send pics???? You don't get the instnat alert like most phones do and you have to check ur email to see if u got something! SUX! Push email is not free either like it is on blackberry
And you have to get your contacts numbers to send them SMSs! And if you can ask a girl for her phone number, asking for her email address will be a lot easier.
You must ask yourself just once how the people at Meizu are feeling.
no mms...no free push email like blackberry....sux!
I'm just wondering what the price will be without a plan. Because I live in Belgium and here cross-belt sale is illegal but Apple has made a distribution deal with Mobistar (one of three wireless carriers here) who has stores all over Belgium. My guess is that it will be about 400€ minimum which frankly, is a RIDICULOUS amount for a phone. I might as well go and buy the Touch Diamond :-)
Ha! I'd love a Diamond myself but they are still $750 here! Now you know what its been like to be a phone guru in North America for all these years! =)
/Not ditching my Curve anytime soon for this
Dont you forget that this is not iPhone forum? :-)
What the hell are you talking about? It's virtually the same size. Idiot.
You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them if you weren't looking at the exact dimensions in a table.
Well, the X1 is the better choice anyway.
well..i'll say this much.. This time around there is a hell of alot more competition out there for the iPhone.. I'm sure its gonna do extremely well.. but there is some descent alternatives in the works.. i'm still getting mine !!
Great thinking guys. Thanks.
A cheap Iphone is good for consumers. Period. Apple charges 20 bucks for the required internet package which is in line with other carriers. If the iphone goes the way of the razr, good. The razr forced every other maunfacturer to create better phone designs. This is already happening b/c of the Iphone. For consumers this is a win-win.
Except for the elite SOBs in their ivory towers. You lose.
Why isn't the Treo 800w a competitor? I am not an apple hater, I just enjoy the flexibility and customization options of winmo. From what I have read, people rip on palm pretty hard on here but feature-wise it seems like it will be a pretty rock solid phone. A qwerty is a must-have for me and i like using my phone very quickly (i am always faster than the phone). I have the HTC mogul right now and it is a bit sluggish because you have to slide out the keyboard unless you want to fight with the touchscreen. I will never again own a slider.
So besides the popular "ugly" comment. Why can't the 800w get some love?
Clearly this iPhone thing is a beast in terms of size and weight. The HTC Touch had me at "Hello".
HTC were the first to bring the touchscreen to the market. One year on the HTC has built upon its lead.
When the touch comes out with Android under the hood, well... there will be no competition there.
Ok if you are seriously trying to compare an iPhone to a Razr you are simply buying a phone for the way it looks, how much it costs, and how few people can afford it. The reason people SHOULD buy an iPhone is for all of the helpful features. The RAZR was the worst phone i have ever owned, regardless of how cool it MIGHT have looked at the time. I would have downgraded to a Nokia 5100 if i was given the chance at that time. A phone has turned into a new accessory for most people. Its like a nice watch or expensive shirt. Grow some balls and quit twirling in the mirror while you pretend to talk on the phone that no one calls you on. YES!!! your ass looks fat with that phone....... get a life Warren
wow. I am disgusted and entertained by that pathetic excuse for a post. You really have nothing to say to people besides waiting for them to respond and then turning it around to make them seem at fault. So why don't you get over your douchebag self and grow some balls, because you honestly have no argument, only mindless criticism
Yeah, Warren, sux that you need a piece of electronics to define yourself. Just for that, I'M GETTING TWO Plutonium powered 320GB iPhones!!!! Top that!
for all of you useless idiots who are trying to be the model human stop bagging on warren. He makes a very valid point that the cost of something justifys the gratification you get from it. Though I admit it may sound self centered at first, the comment speaks true. And this goes out to all of you criticizing him as well: you guys are something far worse than an elitist, or a materialistic; you are the coward like critics who stay back in their bubbles of comfort and wait to scrutinize anyone who takes a risk by thinking outside the accepted norm of society
Sound like someone is sleeping with warren... or just as self interested as warren. Either way you two should go live on a planet where you both have the coolest phone FOREVER. I imagine that planet would be called Planet Kevin and you would be the center of it.
I think if Steve Jobs came out with a cure for cancer, you'd have haters going "It's too expensive," "Being cured of cancer is just a status symbol for the rich," or "I'm going to wait until next year when Sony's cancer cure comes out." Point is, you're going to hate anything Apple does, regardless if it's a step forward technologically or not.
Anyway, the built-in GPS technology is definitely a big upgrade for the new iPhone. I was thinking of buying a handheld GPS, but won't need to now. 3G capability is obviously the big thing, but the number of apps being written and ported to the iPhone puts it in a class by itself, at least for now.
I just watched the Android video from Google, and that looks like an awesome software product, too. Bottom line, it looks like lots of companies are trying to jump that bar that Apple raised substantially a year ago, and that's a good thing for all of us.
Questions for the haters, though... Do you boycott any movie that Pixar does? How about iPod? Do you have one, or do you stick with the Zune? Like it or not, Jobs' fingerprints are all over our technology and our culture, and I happen to think the world is a little bet better off because of it. It seems small-minded, close-minded, and a just waste of energy in general to be a hater. Prejudice is a hard thing to overcome.
i agree with warren to cheap
I agree with warren 100%. Tell me when Bently starts making a $20K model and then turn around and in the same breath tell me how prestigious they are. exclusivity is half of what made the iphone what it was. i remember getting the razer as soon as it came out but it diminished into nothing within a year. Motorola has yet to have a hit phone since. Apple clearly does not value or respect the cliental that enjoys exclusivity or they would not lower this price so much. Tell me how cool the iphone is when your mom, dad, sister, cousin, neighbor, best friend, worst enemy, and mail man has one. the "shock value" of the device will have diminished into nothing. don't believe me? ask yourself if you are still shocked or impressed when you see someone with a razr. tell me when prada, louis vutton, or mazaratti (spell check) start making "affordable" items. they wouldn't dare because they care about prestige a tad more than just making money anyway they can. now THAT is respectable. apple has sunk quite low in my opinion and i would assume that most fellow current iphone owners would agree with me.
So are you one of those tools that breaks out your shiny new gadget expecting wide eyed drooling peasants to gather around you begging for just one stroke of your fingerprintless touch screen? "No", said montreaux, "let them eat cake".
The cake, like your faux elitist mask, is a lie, good sir. If you want to be original, break out a soldering iron and some creativity and make something. Purchasing individuality is laughable at best.
Okay, yea Warren, I felt a twinge of what you said in your first comment (not nearly enough to broadcast that thought on the internet) but yea, one of the reasons iphone were so cool to begin with is because not everyone could get one, its been that way with *everything* the last several hundred years. I'd pop out my iPhone somewhere and would constantly have people ask me if they could play with it, which I almost always didnt care (sorry but when a complete stranger asks to see my phone at the mall, I draw the line). It was cool. I dont give a shit now, I love my iPhone a good deal and want to get the 3G model because it seems to be BETTER than the one I have now. I dont want the new one to keep up my techno-savy appearance. I was surprised, curious, pissed off, and then thrilled about the new cheap price, I'll sell my current iphone on ebay for 100 bucks to some kid who never thought he'd be able to get one
Gees, because one person has an opinion different to the rest you all try and bury him?
It's just an opinion, right or wrong it doesn't matter as it is just that, an opinion. It's not a fact.
You're all goddamn retards, thats MY opinion.
ok i agree with dylan and warren. I'm a die hard apple fan and i love all of theyre products no matter the price tag because it all comes down to quality for me. money is no object as long as it delivers. i just got my new 16 gb 3g and i love it. It was well worth giving up my 1v iphone but i mean whats the point of you jealouse ppl hating on the privileged? com on and get over your selves. everyone is entitled to their own opinion and if u dont like mine then go screw yourself
i also agree with montreaux because evry word of his comment is true. if buggatti came out with a 40k model then one of the worlds most expensive and exclusive vehicles(only 300 will/have been made) would be no more than another car that just got u from point a to point b. then the "shock factor" would be no more tgthan a quick glance of mediocrity. call me elitest or snobby or materialist but w/e continue to drool at my presense
