While it's a given that the iPhone 3G is hitting the US on the 11th, the rest of our global readership was left scratching their collective heads wondering if they were part of the 22 "biggest markets" mentioned in the keynote. So here you go, the 22 countries scheduled to go live with the iPhone 3G on July 11th:
- Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and the US.
$199 for 8G and $299 for the 16GB model... in the US at least and with a 2-year contract. The remaining 48 countries listed after the break will get theirs "later this year."

About time Rogers!!
Minilap @ Jun 9th 2008 3:26PM
Rogers will still find a way to rip off Canadians, I"m sure they will force you sign a life time contract just to get the phone for it's regular price.
faran @ Jun 9th 2008 3:51PM
not to worry
this seems like a great reason for everyone that doesn't like rogers to come together and bash them
long live www.ihaterogers.com
jorvay @ Jun 9th 2008 3:40PM
I'm assuming 3-year contracts will be required to get that price. I cringe to imagine what it would cost for me to get one of these mid-way through my existing rogers contract. Any rumours on the non-subsidized price?
Benjamin Cirino @ Jun 9th 2008 3:41PM
Look how overpriced the iPod Touch is now. No 3G or phone and its $100 more and you have to pay for the new firmware!
OneLove @ Jun 9th 2008 3:44PM
In soviet russia, iphone no get you!
CMfly @ Jun 9th 2008 3:45PM
Bets on the data plan pricing?? $15/MB?
OneLove @ Jun 9th 2008 3:45PM
The chinese are probably making their own 3g "iphone" right now.
KT @ Jun 9th 2008 4:26PM
With that price, everyone in india will have an iPhone, apple will go crazy making sooo many iPhones, but its late tht we will have to wait for the end of the year
Evan @ Jun 9th 2008 4:42PM
Rogers' current dataplan:
Unlimited to *SPECIFIC* websites (Yahoo! Canada, MySpace Mobile, etc.)
All other websites:
Up to 5MB $15/MB
5MB to 10 MB $10/MB
10MB to 20MB $5/MB
20MB or more $0.50/MB
So unless Rogers is going to cut their plans dramatically on July 11th, we're screwed!
holycow @ Jun 9th 2008 5:34PM
haha check rogers website... it says "SOMETHING REALLY BIG IS COMING JULY 11th" ... as if someone doesnt know its the god damn iPhone!
Rob @ Jun 9th 2008 6:59PM
"SOMETHING REALLY BIG IS COMING JULY 11th"....
...yeah, it's your Rogers data bill.
(I didn't come up with this, just quoting someone from another forum)
Za @ Jun 10th 2008 2:02AM
OneLove, the Chinese are actually making *this* iPhone as well. They also made the old one. Most of Apple's assembly is done by the Chinese.
franck @ Jun 10th 2008 3:15AM
For France it's on the 17th not 11
HadrianM @ Jun 9th 2008 3:23PM
Ummm... You forgot Greenland...
HadrianM @ Jun 9th 2008 3:25PM
and Iceland...
iPhone Pontification = Win
Geography Quiz = Fail
Pandemic @ Jun 9th 2008 3:28PM
I don't even see Iceland on the map there, I was hoping Vodafone would grab it here.
Andrew @ Jun 9th 2008 3:23PM
Hell, Greenland and Iceland don't even exist to Apple!
James B @ Jun 11th 2008 5:46PM
It is a bit odd? I'm pretty sure I saw an apple store when I was in Iceland.
John @ Jun 9th 2008 3:37PM
I'm sure Björk can afford to get an iPhone elsewhere.
Daniel M @ Jun 9th 2008 3:23PM
SWEDEN! YEAH! Man was I anxious!
Jakob Henner @ Jun 9th 2008 3:25PM
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT NEITHER!!!
The vikings are finally in. Now we just have to wait to hear Telia's plans.
Marcus @ Jun 9th 2008 3:45PM
Haha here we go! Heja Sverige (lol)
Juju @ Jun 9th 2008 3:55PM
About fucking time! HEJA SVERIGE!
Evan @ Jun 9th 2008 3:23PM
I can just see it now...
Coming to Rogers, for the low low price of $150/mo.
Blair Thiessen @ Jun 9th 2008 3:26PM
It's coming to Fido too. Here's proof: http://www.apple.com/ca/iphone/buy/
Sure Fido is owned by Rogers but there plans might be cheaper (and without data)
TJ @ Jun 9th 2008 3:28PM
WOW, that's cheap for Rogers LOL
Tomheivers @ Jun 9th 2008 3:24PM
It's on the Belgian website ... Could he truly be sticking to his price of 199 dollars (125 euros?) Then apple would just own the cellphone market here.
Bert Lagaisse @ Jun 9th 2008 4:26PM
No prices on apple.be website yet. Nor on the mobistar website. I wonder ...
I'm pretty amazed they could make the deal here in Belgium, cos conditional sale is forbidden here, if you can't buy the cell phone separately.
TjOeNeR @ Jun 9th 2008 4:39PM
Jep, I'm certainly curious about the Belgium offerings...
Stijn @ Jun 11th 2008 4:07AM
The release in Belgium on 11 July has been canceled :(.
Kelmon @ Jun 11th 2008 7:36AM
As long as I can have the phone set in English, then I'm happy, since my Dutch and French language skills are rubbish.
Gulli @ Jun 9th 2008 3:24PM
Its funny that my country, Iceland, Isn't even on THE FUCKING MAP, no IPhone for us.
GenBanks @ Jun 9th 2008 3:51PM
They'll find it once the 3g iphone is released. GPS, ya'see.
FUCKAPPLE @ Jun 10th 2008 6:25AM
No iPhone for us in the United Arab Emirates, either.. EVEN tho they have a flagshit (flagship) store here...
jon @ Jun 9th 2008 3:24PM
YAY New Zealand lol
Stevo @ Jun 9th 2008 3:58PM
Fuck yeah. Now if only Vodafone could lower there data plan pricing...
Andrew B @ Jun 10th 2008 6:56AM
I agree, yay NZ indeed - now to see the pricing announcement from Vodafone! :)
seajay @ Jun 9th 2008 3:24PM
well THANK GOD it'll be out in the usa. i was hoping it would be.
martythemaniak @ Jun 9th 2008 3:25PM
Prediction for Canada: $499 with a 3 contract. $99 a month will buy you 200 minutes, a 100 megabytes and leftover scraps from Ted Rogers' dinner table.
Mert @ Jun 9th 2008 3:27PM
They can't make it 399 when people can easily go buy one in US and upgrade the software here to Rogers. Besides, by allowing other countries to have iPhone, I assume the software lock for the carrier will be removed. At least they will go about finding smarter ways to lock it such as your imei number, just like they are doing now.
CosterMonger @ Jun 9th 2008 3:39PM
so true.
they'll come out with a unlimited data & calling for a mere $299/month
martythemaniak @ Jun 9th 2008 4:32PM
My comment was in jest, of course, but I'd be highly surprised if the iphone isn't more expensive here. Something like $50-100 - enough for you to get the feeling that Rogers has fucked you over (yet again), but not enough for most people to go to the trouble of getting it from the states.
CosterMonger @ Jun 9th 2008 4:25PM
@DestroyerMTL
not a pretty sight
http://spmedia.canada.com/gallery/01forbes/rogers02_030508.jpg
Rickard @ Jun 9th 2008 3:25PM
Not that I thought they would ever get it, but I believe they forgot about Greenland and Iceland being part of this earth...
Chino B @ Jun 9th 2008 3:25PM
I see Philippines in red
Toink @ Jun 9th 2008 9:02PM
Yeah. Globe Telecom is the exclusive carrier for the iPhone 2.0
alan @ Jun 9th 2008 3:26PM
When the hell did Hong Kong become a country?
jaaron @ Jun 9th 2008 3:32PM
Eh, it's a Special Administrative Region. They control their own currency and immigration though, separate from mainland China.
The more important question, for us in Hong Kong though, is who will the carrier be and will there be a way to buy without a contract? Still hoping to see an unlocked iphone for sale directly from Apple someday.
Killer @ Jun 9th 2008 3:33PM
The Chinese government has very little control of the city (economically), it was part of the deal with britian when they turned over to China. That's why its on there, weaker regulations. That's why.
