Digifriends MID coming to US via Sprint / Nextwave
Unfortunately, we've yet to hear if the Digifriends MID we toyed with at CES will be updated before launching in the US of A, but either way, you can bank on it coming. Reportedly, Peter Kim, the project supervisor at Digifriends USA, has informed Pocketables that the unit spotted in January will be arriving Stateside with "contracted sales through Sprint and NextWave." Pricing remains a mystery, but we're told to expect said unit to be available "very soon." The edge of our seat can barely take all of this pressure.
Update: Peter Kim pinged us to say: "We have made contact with Sprint and NextWave, but have not yet made contracts with them."

If the iPhone had green plastic and hinges that support itself.
Already ONE hour without a new story on engadget about the iPhone. How can I possibly get through the day????
it looks like a umpc. oh wait it is a umpc. hey , i just noticed my 42 inch plasma tv looks like an iphone. just goes to show the effect that the iphone has had. it has had so much effect that people were making iphone clones before the iphone was even made.
This sucks! Why are they forcing me into going with Sprint? Why can I not buy it online and use it with whatever carrier I want? Why do I have to go into the store and wait in line to buy it (which I'm going to do anyway on day one but that's my choice - I don't want to have to do it because they say so)! Darn you Digifriends!
Digifriends? Is this for 6 year olds?
Looks like a potentially interesting product to me. I couldn't find how much it weighs, though.
The information about being contracted with Sprint and Nextwave was a result of miscommunication through a typo in an email. We have only made contact and not a contract. I am very sorry for the inconveniences this has caused.
