Metal Gear Solid 4 plays favorites with dig at Xbox 360
We've already seen some of the product placement to be found in the soon-to-be-released Metal Gear Solid 4, and it looks like PlayStation 3 users are in store for a bit of reinforcement about their console buying decision as well. As you can see for yourself in the video after the break, at one point during the game, Metal Gear Solid's Otacon takes a not-so-subtle dig at the Xbox 360's non-HD disc format by asking you to swap disc 1 for disc 2, only to suddenly realize that you're using a Blu-ray disc, and a dual-layer one at that, which then prompts him to go on about "what an age we live in." At least there's no HD DVD reference to further rub it in, though we wouldn't doubt that there's one of those lurking somewhere in the game as well.

Makes no sense:
1. Can someone name a single xbox 360 game that used 2 discs?
2. What about the original xbox?
3. This is and always was and will be a sony exclusive, why would they compare it to the xbox?
man...old news is old.
also, it's a jab at MGS1.
Engadget as well. Man this network really wants to milk this inaccurate story.
Engadget: "At least there's no HD DVD reference to further rub it in"
Why doesn't Engadget just assume there is? That seems to be what's happened with this important story.
In no way does the game allude to any other console going by that screen. One would have to imagine that connection for themselves, which Engadget has clearly done here.
"a not-so-subtle dig at the Xbox 360's non-HD disc format"
What non-HD disc format? You can't possibly mean a DVD can't do HD right? Because it's doing it on every single Xbox 360 game and it's no big secret.
This just sounds like another embarrassing reason not to play it with your girlfriend in the room.
"Huh? Oh, wait! We're on a PS3 system! Neither you nor anyone else is actually playing this game, no need to swap."
hehe that was a good one, it will be even better when the sales figures come out and make you look like a douche....oh wait you already do...
@A1
...Yeah sales figures that would be higher if they would have released across multiple platforms. (Yes, I know the 360 would have needed 3 DVD's for this game)
I think the whole piece is really lame

Can't wait to get my copy on thursday! XD
This title is VERY misleading, It is having a go at the original MGS since that was on 2 discs

DUDE this hilarious guy is playing Metal Gear Solid 4 for 24 straight hours! it's so awesome! http://bushleague.tv/
Actually, this is a reference to Metal Gear Solid 1 were you would have to change to disc 2 at this exact point. Its NOT a jab at HD-DVD or DVD in general.
