Voodoo Omen and Envy press shots galore

A look back on popular stories from today in a specific year.

Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
Really? I can't run hundreds of peripheral devices on a Mac? This is news to me, because I have run hundreds of peripherals on Macs over the years. I doubt you've ever tried it though, otherwise you wouldn't have brought that up as a "valid" point.
And yes, every OS can do that. That's why I was pointing out how stupid it was for roach to suggest OS X wouldn't know what to do with that hardware. Did you miss that part?
Wow, way to be a moron. As a Mac user at home and PC user at work, first thing I want to see is that this is a great looking laptop with a great feature set, and if i was looking for a Windows laptop this is the one I would get.
Having said that, your criticism is ridiculous. So OS X doesn't run every odds and ends hardware component, so what?? Do you know how few people actually need those? You think the people who read Engadget are the normal ones? Hell no we aren't, we are the weird ones! We are the minority. How many different types of case fans you really need if the one that comes with the PC does what you need it to? How many raid controllers or network cards? Seriously? Oh yeah, then there is the fact that Windows doesn't exactly work so well with all those devices anyway.
So drop your anti-mac loozer hat, enjoy the PC you built as long as it works for ya and move on...
They need an avuncular elderly guy dressed like Steve Jobs to show us how it works.
sure the prettiest windows running thing out there right now ( wait...it's out yet?)
Im a little bit turned off by the big Arial "HDMI" print on the side of the black lappy. it just seems odd on such beautiful design...
does this work with a mac?
that's one of the best looking laptops i've ever seen.
Might sound weird, but, That is sure one hot looking PC!
These are SO MUCH better looking than the lame Alienware cases.
Everytime I see an Alienware case, I get a craving for some beef jerky.
And don't even get me started on the standard PC philosophy of "blinky lights = speed and style."
btw, what's with that funky looking trackpad?
It has to be flush with the palm rest to make the whole thing thinner, so it looks like that so you know where it is.
uhh, sexy.
omg I am an avid mac user / owner (who also owns multiple PCs), and I have to say that this is the prettiest PC lappy I have seen in a while, beats the Vaios design... I want one
L00K - VPR Matrix / Best Buy started making computers again..
Don't fall for the drop dead looks, it will be a paper weight in 14 months.
So is anything else. Attitudes like that don't belong in the pc market.
too bad it runs windows...
BRAVO on the placement of the I/O ports.
It's about time someone got the hint that ports all across the front and down each side are a pain in the arse for anyone who routinely plugs a laptop into peripherals at a desk.
Too much gloss! I don't want my handprints, much less my fingerprints, all over the inside!
You aren't supposed to touch it, you're supposed to look at it. "oooooh, ahhhhhh"
It's beautiful but your point is valid.
look an aluminum box... woop dee doo
So much for unique industrial design.. NOT
Battery life of Envy: 3.5 hours MAX.
:(
They are sort of taking preorders now, they give you a number in the queue. They are talking about mid-July ship, maybe.
Two flavors, 80GB HD ($2100 base price) or 64 GB SSD ($3100 base price).
Windows Vista Ultimate only.
The design is nice, but it looks strikingly similar to the G5/Mac Pro towers. Also the color might be different but the notebook version also looks (well the exterior) like a macbook pro w/ sharper corners; it's that one picture viewing the side ports of the notebook.
"It still runs Windoze..next," "Too bad it runs windows" "blah, blah, blah"
Listen, if it can boot from an iso image, then it will run whatever I tell it to run.
W0w that thing is badass!1 I want one but I'm sure I wont be able to afford it. :(
Hmm, just remembered something. Doesn't this look very similar to the Intel Metro prototype, minus e-ink display?
I think that's actually nice than the Air.
Next year.
Holy crap.
This shit is soooo mine.
awe it only runs windoze
LAM3 I am T3h Ub3r M4C us3r
I only support Macs
I've never used Vista and I know it sucks because my friend told me his friend couldnt use his M$ office from 1998.
really? come on cant you just say "hey this laptop looks nice."
Do we all really need to know how much of a trendsetter you are with your mac? oh know he goes agains the Church of the Mac!! get him!!
I have respect for the people that have owned Macs before the iPod was cool...the people that know the ins and outs..but you guys who just jump on the bandwagon because all your friends own them crack me up!
Oh my gosh...
Voodoo stole my design!
A while ago, I made a mockup for a new Apple Macbook pro and posted it on appleinsider.

voodoo owes me some dough : )
Voodoo owes you money for an un-patented so-so photoshop? If that's true then you own Apple money for using the Macbook name on anything.
They look as alike as your face and my ass
FAIL !
Should definitely be a fine product.
Wow more than just a USB port to hook things up to. What a concept!
Envy is the word, It could run OSX86 leopard no problemo, since it has similar insides to a MBA
Yes Fanbois all that sexy engineering was done at INTEL
First laptop that kicks Apples ass.
