OSX wouldn't know what to do with all those hardware inside this computer, so I guess OSX would make this computer a brain dead computer...a lot worst than windoze.
I'll give respect to OSX, once it can works on thousands of different hardware configuration. Man, Apple still manage to create bugs with hardware they put together.
hey the first attack comment. osx is DESIGNED to run on mac products. its not "osx can't run on this hardware", apple made it that way so you have to buy their product.
Right, just like OS X wouldn't know what do to with an 8-core Xeon or 32 GB of RAM. Oh wait... yes it would. It would also know what to do with 1100 G5s clustered together to form the world's 3rd fastest supercomputer when it was built. It's at Virginia Tech, look it up. And yes, it does run out of the box OS X.
But yeah, I'm sure OS X wouldn't know what to do with a single laptop. Try not to be a complete moron.
Zak, it is you who is a moron here. * cores and XXX RAM? It's easy. Every OS can do this. Try 100 different peripheral devices (like in drivers for diferent graphic cards etc.)
Too bad Apple spends more money on brain washing "Zaks" than on software development.
Really? I can't run hundreds of peripheral devices on a Mac? This is news to me, because I have run hundreds of peripherals on Macs over the years. I doubt you've ever tried it though, otherwise you wouldn't have brought that up as a "valid" point.
And yes, every OS can do that. That's why I was pointing out how stupid it was for roach to suggest OS X wouldn't know what to do with that hardware. Did you miss that part?
Wow, way to be a moron. As a Mac user at home and PC user at work, first thing I want to see is that this is a great looking laptop with a great feature set, and if i was looking for a Windows laptop this is the one I would get.
Having said that, your criticism is ridiculous. So OS X doesn't run every odds and ends hardware component, so what?? Do you know how few people actually need those? You think the people who read Engadget are the normal ones? Hell no we aren't, we are the weird ones! We are the minority. How many different types of case fans you really need if the one that comes with the PC does what you need it to? How many raid controllers or network cards? Seriously? Oh yeah, then there is the fact that Windows doesn't exactly work so well with all those devices anyway.
So drop your anti-mac loozer hat, enjoy the PC you built as long as it works for ya and move on...
HP's Jon Rubenstein told us that his company wanted to veer in a new direction, and veer it surely did -- the HP Veer 4G will arguably be the smallest fully-functional smartphone on the market when it goes on sale May 15th.

this comments is towards Reality Check
Errr, the Envy I think would run OS X... not too sure about the Omen.
So a laptop will run OS X better than a fully kitted out tower?
