I'll buy it if it comes with those polar bears
jak0b @ Jun 11th 2008 12:23PM
What could you possibly want/do with a polar bear?
Flashpoint @ Jun 11th 2008 12:30PM
too bad the consumer driven economy - that drives the production and purchasing of items like this LCD TV - is the reason why in 50 years those polar bears will be Extinct.
Global Warming is real and those Polar Bears are going to be a dead species once their ice melts.
Erik @ Jun 11th 2008 12:31PM
You could put armor on it and ride it around town/the arctic.
Darwin @ Jun 11th 2008 12:51PM
Screw the TV. I just want more polar bear pictures.
coffee @ Jun 11th 2008 12:51PM
if I have to sacrifice a polar bear for a nice LCD, so be it. Maybe if the polar bear evolved with a 20000:1 contrast ratio, it wouldn't be endangered.
flashpoint, what should the economy be driven by? good will?
yeah, that's what I thought, genius.
and if you bought a computer that enabled you to post on this site, you are helping to kill polar bears, too, right? or is that justified by hypocrisy, like everything else?
Low Ranked @ Jun 11th 2008 1:02PM
Coffee, you completely missed Flashpoint's sarcasm. Are you new here?
Carl Vitullo @ Jun 11th 2008 1:30PM
...i don't think he was being sarcastic.
bolezhinkov @ Jun 11th 2008 1:55PM
people vote down posts that expose our shallow consumer driven urges. thats what you do when you are trying to deny there is a problem and are frantically doing everything you can to avoid looking at it, thinking about it or dealing with it.
makes me sad - how can we have such limited foresight, no accountability and even less of a sense of responsibility.
nice screen too.

This brand is absolute crap, for the money, buy something else, perhaps a Samsung or LG.
Bunson @ Jun 11th 2008 12:30PM
I haven't payed much attention to this brand in the past, but this looks like a solid product.
Low Ranked @ Jun 11th 2008 12:56PM
As the old saying goes, don't judge a monitor by its high-gloss finish; or something along those lines.
Eli Gundry @ Jun 11th 2008 1:27PM
I dunno. All out monitors at school are made by AOC and I must say they are quite nice. And the pricepoint on this monitor is quite nice. Try finding HDMI on a monitor for under 300.
Kurian @ Jun 11th 2008 1:42PM
I have an AOC 2217PWC. It was really cheap and I'm very happy with it. I just wanted an ordinary monitor for my PC, but this thing had a lot of features and it costs only a little more than other 22" monitors. Its got DVI-D /w HDCP aside from VGA, which means its fully HDMI compatible with a HDMI to DVI cable. Plus its got a moderately good webcam with useless mic.
Sasha @ Jun 12th 2008 2:42PM
It's funny you say to go for an LG instead, when the company that makes AOC manufacturers most LG displays as well. They have seriously improved their performance and quality. 20,000 to 1 contrast ratio is awesome and 2ms response time is perfect for gaming. Do some more research.
natels @ Jun 11th 2008 12:28PM
I'm in the market for a new 22" and I'd like to see this compared with Samsungs new T220 for the same price.
Timmy @ Jun 11th 2008 12:42PM
It looks good with Black and White but do they have a model that handles color?
konshuss @ Jun 11th 2008 12:59PM
fail
Shoumik @ Jun 11th 2008 12:58PM
lol 299. Asus at first thought their laptop was gonna be 199. Won't be surprised if this price is jacked up due to "Production anomalies"

..oh wait...google is speaking to me "use me,type in loewe individual compose"
If you borrow ideas why not from the best,eh?
Colin Weick @ Jun 11th 2008 1:24PM
I bet it is a 6 bit TN panel. I wish they would invest in making more 8 bit panels...
GJunco @ Jun 13th 2008 11:14AM
It is an 8 bit panel, i was curious myself and asked someone "in the know"
Jhonka @ Jun 11th 2008 1:26PM
So... another TN panel in the 22" market.

Correct me if I'm just blind, but I don't see much sarcasm in Flashpoint's post. Maybe if his post said... ... well, I actually can't see a way of making his comment sarcastic (without spending more than 5 minutes trying).
@Flashpoint
If you were trying to be funny, better luck next time.

Can this be used to play ps3 system on or Xbox 360 hdmi system on?? Can someone give me a answer? THanks all!
thatrotierkid @ Jun 11th 2008 2:11PM
RTFA
Sasha @ Jun 18th 2008 1:41PM
Yes, it has HDMI inputs so it can be used to play HD Xbox and PS3...or at least it should be able to, that's the main point of the HDMI inputs on these displays
BigTeebo @ Jun 11th 2008 2:04PM
I will give them kudos for having 1080(and not cheaping out with a max of 720) and giving it a real nice affordable price. While it's not a 60 inch plasma, not everyone needs(or wants) a big 'ol TV to watch their fave HD shows.
Das Boot @ Jun 11th 2008 2:48PM
Those polar bears look so cute. I would rather buy them then the TV. My neighbor, Michael Jackson, would love to use them for all his kids parties he has. I been invited (bc im 13) by him to attend to his parties but everytime i go he offers me wine and i usually pass out and wake up kinda sore. oh the innoscence, the beauty. why the face of god is on every child. So says michael.
substance90 @ Jun 11th 2008 3:13PM
I wonder where can I find the wallpaper on the screen? :)
Paul G @ Jun 11th 2008 11:52PM
Oh sure.... show off adorable Polar Bears. What about the Panda? Or the Emperor Penguin? I'm calling this a biased monitor!
Arvid @ Jun 12th 2008 1:39AM
nice...
