Genepax shows off water-powered fuel cell vehicle

We've seen plenty of promises about water-powered cars (among other things), but it looks like Japan's Genepax has now made some real progress on that front, with it recently taking the wraps off its Water Energy System fuel cell prototype. The key to that system, it seems, is its membrane electrode assembly (or MEA), which contains a material that's capable of breaking down water into hydrogen and oxygen through a chemical reaction. Not surprisingly, the company isn't getting much more specific than that, with it only saying that it's adopted a "well-known process to produce hydrogen from water to the MEA." Currently, that system costs on the order of ¥2,000,000 (or about $18,700 -- not including the car), but company says that if it can get it into mass production that could be cut to ¥500,000 or less (or just under $5,000). Head on past the break for a video of car in action courtesy of Reuters.

The car does not really run on water. The car is electric and the electric generator powers the electric engine. Batteries provide the electricity to the generator. The WES (Water Energy System) provides continuous battery charging.
Here are the parts:
Electricity Generation Module,
Prototype Generator System,
All Electric Automobile with on-board WES for continuous battery charging.
Their breakthrough is the continuous battery charging which is done through their WES. That's their fuel cell. Stored battery power probably starts the system. When water is separated into hydrogen and oxygen, electricity is created. That's how a fuel cell works. That electricity is used to charge the battery which in turn runs the electric car. Adding the water is to keep the system producing the electricity through the separation of water into HH and O, thus, creating more electricity to continue charging the battery. Fuel cells create electricity through a chemical reaction. The chemical reaction causes the water to separate and pass hydrogen to one side of a membrane and oxygen to the other side. The passing through creates the electricity. They seem to have created an efficient electrode membrane system. That's the breakthrough that everyone in the fuel cell area has been trying to achieve.
At least that's how I think it works.
Conspiracy theories, political cheerleading, but only a few scientific comments. As presented it is a perpetual motion machine.
You have to put energy in (electricity) to split hydrogen from oxygen. Recombining H and O2 by burning it or via a catalytic reaction will power a car, but where is that initial energy input?
Water is in a low energy state. (If it weren't the oceans would decay into something else). No mention of where that energy came from.
Oil is a mined commoditee that gives us free energy. Yeah it costs money to drill it, refine it, ship it. But there's still enough profit in the energy provided to make Big Oil rich beyond comprehension. Guess what, water is a commoditee thats alot easier to mine, burns cleaner, and get this, has much greater thermal potential than oil!! The technology to crack the H2O into the volatile Hydrogen and Oxygen gasses has been too expensive to be practical. Stan Meyer pioneered a method to crack the water molecule with advanced electronic circuitry and other poorly understood physical phenomena that makes water the fuel of the future. This technology has been suppressed for years, and is about to have the lid blown off!! Watch and be amazed!!!
Can you design a better looking car? I like it! it has a different look and when you look different you get noticed! and it runs on H2O no more high prices at the pump! So change is good! it will help our world out by no emissions out the tail pipe! stop globle warming!
Normally a prototype is not very attractive. Once investors get involved, then money is available to create a nice looking vehicle. The only problem would be when oil and car companies either threaten or company or buy the technology and make sure it disappears. The five largest U.S. oil companies made $36 billion in just the first 3 months of this year. They have plenty of money to make such things go away. If you don't believe that an economical car can look good, check out the Tesla...
http://www.teslamotors.com/
The Tesla Roadster, with a top speed of 125 mph and a range of 220 miles on a single charge, it's a nice alternative to paying 4 plus dollars at the pump. The only problem is that it's not mass produce and therefore expensive. If a company like GM would mass produce a car like this, it would have a decent price tag, but GM doesn't want a vehicle like this because a big part of GM's earnings are aftermarket parts. With electric cars, there is much less maintenance and repair. Personally I think this car looks much better than a lexus gs.
LOL! Something doesn't add up here.
If these guys are for real they have broken rules of physics and thermodynamics and will win the next Nobel Prize! Somehow, I don't think so....

For everybody who is new to this... I can only re-iterate Stan Meyer's invention more than 30 years ago. The secret lies in the frequency of the electrical current that releases the hydrogen with much much less input than out.
while many have figured out how to use the hydrogen just like gasoline, this one is converting it directly into electricity, that is new. I guess this needs to be passed around and I would have liked to see a bigger model.
Just watch...something is going to happen...some patent infringement or the like and the prototype that was ready to roll from the assembly line is going to be grounded. Good Luck japanese, you will have to fight to get this out without a controversy.
At almost 200 miles per gallon of water this is the most gorgeous car I have ever seen. You people dont realize that this is the solution the the worlds energy problems. The downside is that the US government will never allow it because they cant tax water. It is an essential element and they cant tax it so this technology will forever be supressed.
I could not help laughing at a comment that previously made, that this could be the answer to energy problems the world over, i disagree however with his comments that the government could not tax water, as i previously pointed out this has already been discussed by several government agencies and it would have to be collected via road pricing and a supplentary purchase tax would be levied on all new water burning vehicles to supplement the new infrastructure, it is the only way to stop people from getting energy freely from the sky.
It would also be naive if someone should come up with a solution whereby solar panels would 100 times more efficient and as cheap to manufacture as a carrier bag that the government would let us install them freely onto our property, (this is more likely than you may think ) you cannot have any system that interferes with the raising of tax revenue even if it is for the benefit of the environment you can be sure that the governments around the world would implement a walking tax in the blink of an eye in the event that tax revenues are threatened.
Dr Luke tanning. rikkk@fsmail.net
Some say it's ugly. That's not the point. The beauty will come later. For instance, look at the Tesla Motors car which can give you 220 miles on one charge. That car looks like a sports car. Even Jay Leno has one. Electric cars before that looked WORSE than this car does.
The beauty is in the technology!
I just hope that this is not another fraud.
First and foremost: ENERGY CANNOT BE CREATED OR DESTROYED, IT CAN ONLY BE TRANSFERED FROM ONE SOURCE TO ANOTHER.
In order to produce a frequency to split hydrogen from oxygen, you MUST have energy being put into the water. Now once they are split, and say this car somehow converts it into electricity, by converting it, the energy of the electricity will be lower than the energy it takes to split the hydrogen and oxygen (mostly due to loss of heat energy or internal energy of the reaction because you will always lose energy in an electrochemical cel). then if you feed it to an electric motor, not all that energy being put into the motor by electricity will be used to make it spin (becasue some of it will be used up by friction of the rotating parts). so lets run through a cycle of this car:
*say you have 100 units of energy; and it takes 25 units of energy to spilt the water; and when you feed it to the motor, it gives you 20 units of energy back in the form of a rotating shaft. lets say that is one cycle of the car. and you used all 20 units of energy to propel the car (you get less out of the motor than what you put in because of energy loss due to friction as stated above)
**to start the second cycle you will only have 75 units left, and after a period of time your energy source that is needed to split the water will run out of energy!
from a scientific standpoint this whole thing does not make any sense, i will never belive that this is true unless someone can show me with scientific proof that this happens.
Water is not the fuel--the fuel comes from the interaction between the cell and the water. The big question is how long the cell lasts--there's some European company that has a fuel cell generator for laptops, cell phones, and such--you fill it up with water once, it's good for about a month in storage, or perhaps 5 hours in use, and then you take it back to the store and exchange it for a new cell--along with some cash.
So, if you can fill the cell up hundreds of times with water and in a few years from now get a replacement cell for a hundred bucks or so, it's a good thing. If you can only fill the cell up once or twice before it's used up, and then you need to shell out $18,000 for a new cell, then it's not such a good thing--gas is expensive, but I certainly don't have to spend $18k to replace my gas tank every fill up...
The secret to running a car on water? Easy! Just fill your tank with water down at the station, don the crazy psychotic hockey mask featured in the photo, and you'll be guaranteed an interesting journey.
I'm not inclined to believe the claims of a car company advertising a vehicle with Jason out on a joy ride.
Does anyone remember Stanley Myers? Genepax isn't the first in the world to produce a vehicle that runs on nothing but water. Stanley Myers had patents in Japan before Genepax. I currently run my Mercedes on water from Stanley Myers design. So why is this becoming such a big deal now? What about the cost? How F*&(@#$*& ridiculous! With the materials and time, it only cost me about $850.00 USD to convert my Mercedes. If everyone would stop being spoon fed by the Media, (filtered by the DOD and NSA) and think outside the proverbial box (gas tank), we would be able to rid ourselves from the dependence of fossil fuels. I realize that such an inexpensive system (available TODAY) were mass released, it would cause a serious economic crisis. We wouldn't have any need for gas stations on every street corner in America, millions of people would be out of work, and international trade would become war...like the one we are in now. The only reason we don't hear anything about water fueled cars is because the US government and all the other G8 countries know that this is a VERY SIMPLY technology and they are trying to make it sound extremely complicated or too expensive to produce to steer people away from it until they (government politicians) can figure out a way to sell it and line their pockets with more profit. Until the majority knows the truth we are not free!
Electric cars are small and light because they are weighted down with a buttload of batteries. I wonder why a car that runs on water needs to be so small and light?
I can wait to have this car in my Garage with the price of Gas these days.
They are using a CHEMICAL reaction to obtain the electrolysis needed to separate the two H's from the O atom.
It is funny that people do not understand that oil has less hydrogen molecules embedded within its hydrocarbons than water has within it, plus water does not have the "carbons" that create pollution. Water is a perfect energy source for our current needs (automobiles) if the atoms can be separated efficiently enough. I believe that the human mind can achieve almost anything given that enough minds work on the solutions. We prove that everyday with our cell phones, computers, microwave ovens and fiber-optic networks just to name a few. Things that would had appeared impossible 100 years ago seem utterly simple to even our children today.
Why do you think that the price of oil is skyrocketing? The Arabs know that their days of oil production are coming to an end, so they better make trillions of dollars now. The Arabs are scared that this technology will eventually prevail in the next couple of years and they will be forced into a nonexistence state once again. They have nothing else to offer the world but their oil and some rugs and we don't NEED their rugs.
It use to be that someone could invent something wonderful like this and they would either get bought out to keep this technology away or they would die in some mysterious way. We have all heard the rumors over the years.... But, with the advent of the internet it has made it impossible to buy up everybody's ideas and inventions. There are just too many of them out there. Most are a hoax, I admit, but I am inclined to think that some are for real. If our own government, through lobbyist, and automobile manufacturer's were not in bed with the Arabs then this technology might had come out twenty years ago. It is going to take a small automotive company like that one in Japan to start selling cars to the public in order to start the process of weening ourselves off of the Arabs and our own BIG OIL. They will, more than likely, either get bought out or there will be some safety concern restriction that Japan's government will use to shut them down. Our own government would never let a small company like that sell those cars to the public, NEVER!
"If you walk around all day with your eyes open, but your mind closed, you will miss the big picture." - SLH
Will it run on urine? It would give a new meaning to pit stops on long trips.
Wouldn't you spend a few million dollars to keep your dream (OIL) if you were the big oil companies. And wouldn't you hire someone to protect your investment (OIL). And this person that you hire would kill or threaten someone or many people to protect your investment (OIL). Greed and money run this planet. If you doubt that then you are blind, deaf, and ignorant.
The laws of Thermodynamics may be confirmed everyday by the technology available but like I say we don't really know anything about the Universe compare to what we have yet to discover. Who knows what we may discover. What we "think we know about science and the universe" may change in 100 years just like it has throughout history. Who thought water could burn well its not actually the water that burns it is hydrogen. This has been done by electrolysis and by radio frequency saltsare the catalyst here. People all can continue to be blind and look at the world through the eyes of other people or people can look through their own eyes. Who knows how it works because it want built by you. If it wasnt done by you then you are right to be a skeptic but until you do it yourself you can not say how it really works. I understand many people are not actually in the scientific world and they believe everything you hear or read without being critical of it. Having a few classes, reading a book, or degree does not mean you know everything. I know "I" dont know everything in the universe but i am not closed minded. Then again maybe you do know how everything in the universe works and you can explain what makes up the unknown calculated mass of the universe that has been dubbed dark matter. Also what is Dark energy really and why does it seem to increase the rate of expansion of the universe when gravity should be slowing it down. Its good to see at least one of these posts are not sheep that follow everyone else.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this or not since I'm not about to read through pages and pages of comments, but after reading the first couple I noticed that everyone is mostly excited about the idea of "not having to spend so much" rather than the environmental impact.
This is sad as much as it is ignorant. Think about how much you pay for a liter of water at the supermarket vs. how much you pay for a liter of gas at the pump—they're not that far apart. What do you think would happen if we started consuming water at the same rate we consume oil today? Water shortages would get more and more serious and the price would skyrocket.
OLD news..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVhXrvCCILw&
That video was around mid 90's I remember watching it as a kid growing up but sadly thanks you your BiG oil corporations the news never made it outside that country (Philippines) and the BiG oil companies even called him a hoax I think he finally lost hope on his own government and sold the invention to the Japanese hence Genepax's prototype.. Face it these things will never hit the market till all of the worlds oil supply is depleted or people unite and stick it to the MaN.
Well said Jetfix, Its good to see that at least there are some people with eyes that dont keep them closed because they are stuck in the past. What we know about the universe changes everyday, why should this way (water power) of thinking be any different.
To the people that think we will use up the worlds water, The reaction turns the Hydrogen back to water when combined with oxygen plus there are alot of oceans (70% of the worlds suface).
I believe when we go into mass production, the price for the water powered car will be drop drastically.
Recently, we can build a water for fuel kits to run our car on water. I have try to gather more information about this on my website
http://www.waterforfuelkits.com/water-for-fuel-kits-components/
p.s. the car is actualy an electric car, that was made in India , that
is powered by a japanese generator that runs on water(suposedly). this
generator is designed to produce electricity for the home, or to run a
car.
as far as producing enough hydrogen...the company Claims to have found a new way to seperate hydrogen from oxygen with some sort of chemical reaction. I dont know if this reaction is from somthing bio-organic (like yeast seperating sugar into co2, and alcohal) or if the reaction is some sort oxidiation that stripps away the oxygen from hydrogen.
Why is jason driving that car?
This is cool. So when does the boat version of this come out? Given the boat is sitting in water, I could go for ever! SWEET!
As with the birth of the computer and its rapid development, I believe the genepax will revolutionize the auto industry. Can't really wait for most of the world to tell the middle east countries what to do with their oil.
Umm... What is Jason Voorhees doing in the car?
I would love to see cars like this reach the market. But I don't believe we will see them anytime soon. More and more people are getting into doing the conversions themselves.
http://usingwatertorunyourcar.blinkweb.com/
...and who is driving that car in the picture???
Why is jason from the friday the 13th movies in the drivers seat?
Do any of you live live in Canada or anywhere else that it occasionaly drops below freezing? Alot of good a water car will do then. If someone invents an "ice car" i'm in. Untill then i'll stick to tried an true gasoline.:)
Can we run our car with water and gas?
Can anybody tell me is the HHO Gas is real working or is another scam?
hi there,
i use water to fuel a car as a supplement to gasoline. In fact,
very little water is needed, only one quart of water provides over 1800
gallons of HHO gas which can literally last for months and significantly
increase your car fuel efficiently, improve emissions quality, and save
money.I found the way through this site http://www.runcarsonwater.us
i really recommend it to everybody, it's a nice ebook where you can find
the instructions on how to do it! take a look
It's just another scam. Obviously.
This is good news, really I want to know how it's works so may I get the kits for my experience as well as HHO or Water for Gas
Hi Sutras,
Maybe this is what you're looking for.
I recently found these articles, which explain how to supplement the regular gasoline in your car or truck with HHO gas extracted from water! I've no idea if it's genuine or not, though.
How Does a Water Powered Car Work?
Run Your Car On Water
Gary.
Hi Sutras,
Sorry, I only just noticed that link didn't work. Here it is again:

Gary
I want a hydrogen car so I can save money, be good to the enviroment, and most of all so I can drive by the big oil companies and thumb my nose at them, especially George Bush.
But I'm not stupid, I will be wearing a matching bullet prove vest. :)
so many negative comments?this is a beacon of light in a very dark hour and all most people can do is complain.sometimes i think we deserve to slowly choke and die in a polluted enviorment.to all the non believers....KISS MY ASS
I wonder if the fact that these guys are claiming to violate the basic laws of physics bothers any of you. There's no such thing as a free lunch. This has "investment fraud" written all over it.

Inventions like these need to be on TV. I propose a "New Energy Channel" to share ideas.
Right now there are thousands of innovations that can heal the economy and the environment.
These inventions are hidding in plain sight on the web. The news media is missing hundreds
of stories like this. We need to create a new collective conscience with respect to energy, fuel
cells like this, sources of energy and invention. We need to push up the time line that we are
already on. Every time someone says it is so many years down the road, I want to scream.
It is already hear. Fuel cells are here. We can not just sit here e-mailing each other. Inventions
like these need to take the spotlight away from the crap on TV. I believe if I can lead the way
to bring a "New Energy Channel" to TV, I will stand on top of the mountain. Energy must be
the "Star" from all sources and inventions.
It looks like Jason driving this car. I guess this would be perfect for him since he lives on the bottom of a lake.
Of course, it may mean that driving this car is MURDER! :)
