Sharp's 108-inch LCD giant now yours for $100,000
Making good on its promise at CES in January, Sharp just announced the Japanese retail launch of its 108-inch monument to television. The LB-1085 features a 108-ASV 1080p LCD panel with a 400 cd/m2 brightness, 1,200:1 contrast, 6-ms response, and 176-degree viewing angle. Around back you'll find 3x HDMI, 1x DVI, 2x component, and a smattering of other in-and-out. It measures 8.4 x 0.66 x 5.1-feet and weighs 430-pounds (195kg) with an ¥11 million (about $100,000) price tag to match that luxurious heft. Now, anybody want a peanut?

Actually this this has already been available, we saw one in a shop in Akihabara, Tokyo about a week ago. The dollar figure presented might be MSRP, but the actual price is more like $80,000.00. Still way to high for normal people, but cheaper than recorded here.
No, you cannot see pixels even if you get up too close to see the entire picture. This baby is crystal-clear and the 170+ viewing angle is not an exaggeration. Friggin awesome, but way too big for any normal home, no to mention it's the cost of a fairly cheap home!
108-inch LCD television - $100,000
108-inch projector and screen - $5,000
Hmm... used Ferrari 360 Modena or this and a decent A/V equipped PC?
this is one of the worst uses of research and development money i have seen in a long time
here is what is wrong with it
1-it wieghs the same as a european buggy car
2-it cost $100000 (WTF!)
3-it is out of the reach of 99% of the worlds population
4-Mark Cuban thinks this is unnecsesary
5-only 1200:1 contrast (copy sammys 500000:1 contrast-that is worth $100000)
6-this thing sould be at least 5x of Full HD(9600x5400)
name one person who actrally need this over a projector- right nobody
this across is 1.5x my hight so this is just a useless waste of 100k for anybody who buys it
and 7-at least 500 cd/m2 brightness
im sorry it is diagonally 1.5x my hight
(hint-im 6 ft)
guys guys, assuming your penis still is in the right place, Don't worry about this tv. go out and git some!!!! It will be here when you get back, I promise!
