Sony unveils BRAVIA S4000 series LCD HDTVs
Another month, another BRAVIA. Not that we're kvetching or anything, though. On the docket today are four new ones from Sony which make up the all new S4000 family. Arriving in 26-, 32-, 37- and 40-inch sizes, the crew showcases Sony's fresh "draw the LINE" design concept and features a deep piano black finish, clean lines, gently-rounded curves and a swivel base to boot. The largest of the four boasts a 1080p Full HD panel, 24p True Cinema mode and the outfit's BRAVIA ENGINE 2 signal processing technology, while the other guys get stuck with the original BRAVIA ENGINE and "HD Ready" panels. The whole lot gets a trio of HDMI sockets ,an integrated DVB-C / DVB-T TV tuner and a dynamic contrast ratio at or above 22,000:1. No word on a price / release date, but we're figuring that they land somewhere in Europe first.

Here we go agen
You're a fan of the Agen, France rugby team as well?
Here we go Agen, here we go! CLAP CLAP

That worked out nicely, no?
why is the couch -ish thing facing away from the TV?
Because we're apparently more interesting to the people who live in that house?
But truthfully... that picture looks like the TV was photoshopped into it.... pretty poorly.
Its just a brick wall decorated with pillows.
I was going to write the same question, but I actually READ the posts before I write!
If I had this TV with its piss poor contrast I would turn my sofa away from it. Why would you want your sofa facing a lighthouse?
Oh Sony, please stop with the Piano Black.
LOL, Why not look at Samsung, HP, LG, Panasonic and Pioneer. Piano black isnt just a Sony thing. And whats wrong with it anyway?
Piano black is a dust magnet, but I don't mind it.
I just find the name piano black stupid, seeing how the majority of piano keys are white.
Also the huge fingerprint and dirt magnet is no plus either.
wow that panel looks so out of place in that picture.
I think they should spend less on TVs and more on decently painted window trim.
you guys have obviously never had a low back sectional, two people can sit/lie and watch tv in that configuration.
So, isn't it time that we stop buying LCD in anticipation of OLED coming in a couple of years?
I guess we can't expect Sony to stop releasing LCD tvs in the meantime, but I know that I wouldn't be buying now.
what if yr TV is broke and need a new one???
Seconded.
stupid fucking comment system.
What the hell is up with all the cushions, seriously though - does sony's photo shoot co-ordinator have a cushion fetish?
1080p and cinema pulldown on the 40-inch ONLY?
Are Sony living in the past? Who still buys HD displays with less than 1080 vertical resolution?
a) People that don't have much money
b) People that don't look at screens from less then 1m.
contrary to the write up...
NONE of the M4000 models are 1080p, even the 40"... 1366x768
and...
These same models have been out in Canada for well over a month
Yep Sony Guy, you're right about the M4000 specs. Pity that has nothing to do with this thread which is talking about the latest S4000 series, and the 40" model is definitely 1080p native format, with the Bravia Engine 2.
