Yeah, I'm sure using a laptop in a prone position with no cutout for your nose and mouth will work great. If the girl weren't raising her head, it'd be square in the cushion. Keep it up, Gizmodo trolls.
Unfortunately, it's about 74 US Dollars... That's a bit on the absurd side.
Cool product though, wouldn't mind getting one. I love to lay on the floor or bed and use my laptop or play a handheld game. Pillows and Blankets just hurt after a while :~
Gotta ditto everyone else. Tom has obviously never tried working on a laptop while on the floor. Your arms are in a shit position your back was never designed to lay that flat. In short this is perfect. I wants.
It solves the problem of typing and supporting your neck to look at the screen. Like right now... I'm using my remote propped under my chin. Sounds comfortable right?
it's reverse-psychology. engadget want's us all to buy it... so they say it's lame? It's like we're all teenagers and engadget is our out-of-touch parent.
...or maybe thomas ricker just has too much of a belly for this to make any sense to him. ;P
"While it promises to alleviate neck and back pain, somehow, looking at these pics, we find that hard to believe."
What I'm certain most of us here would actually find hard to believe, is that we all can see the advantages to this invention while according to you, everyone on the Engadget team cannot.
I, too find this a very good idea. I usually use a big pillow for this position, but this is potentially better.
This is why I don't have any back problems despite being glued to the computer screen 12 hours a day. Switching positions! When you sit, your back is curved, which you can then balance by lying on your belly with your back hollow. Highly recommended.

the blogger has obviously never used a laptop while laying on his stomach.
keep bashing geeks on a geek blog, idiot.

Yeah man, why all the hate in the article? This seems like a neat idea, fuck, I'd even get one if it's not too expensive.

I am actually quite interested in this, its actually a clever idea for us who lay on our stomach as we use PC's, Which is NOT comfortable.

It's a good idea. And if you turn it around, it becomes one of those fornication pillows! (not that geeks would need that...) :)

footrub and doggystle. What more could you want?
vileta2 @ Jun 17th 2008 8:29AM
This is a really good idea, nothing absurd about it. Using a laptop or any small device while lying flat on your belly is really uncomfortable.

I totally agree. I always try to do this with pillows, but head support/ pressure on the jaw is always an issue. me likey.
