
The amount of apps in the Windows Phone Marketplace
Microsoft's Windows Phone Marketplace has now reported to have passed 25,000 apps by one site tracking comings and goings within it. (source: WindowsPhoneAppslist, July 2011)

Why would I pay this kind of money for a phone when there is the promise of so many great options in a short period of time? I'll wait to see what happens when Android is released. It might be earthshaking or not, depending on how it works out, but I'd rather wait than kick myself later.
Also, while this looks great, for the money I'd rather go for an iphone, not that I'm a mac fan, but I'm not a MS fan either, and I can't imagine this being worth over $500 more (of course this is dependent on potential increased cost of service plan as well when it comes to the iphone).
Here's hoping for a good open source equivalent.

Plus Mac OSX is really just a flavor of Linux...deep down inside, its wants to be open source.

OS X is not a flavor of Linux. Linux and OS X are both 'nix systems, but this does not make them the same.
