Dell Studio Hybrid mini PC leak reveals specs, new casing
Remember that tidy little bamboo-encased mini PC Dell showed off in April? Well apparently the company is at work on a variant of the diminutive system, dubbed the Studio Hybrid. In addition to forgoing the eco-friendly wood for what appears to be a sleek, orange Plexiglas shell, the system boasts an Intel chipset, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, WiFi, a DVD+R drive, five USB ports, an HDMI port, S/PDIF, DVI, and a memory card reader. We're not sure exactly when Dell plans to unleash these on consumers or what the final cost will be, though previously the company had stated plans to offer it later this year for between $500 and $700. Check the gallery below for a few more (blurry) shots of the device.

Dell is full of surprises these days.
I'll pick one up but hope they offer colors - I'd take a nice smoke acrylic to sit next to my xbox
well guys i know for a good source that these guys had the hybrid for about 3 min and the pics were taken with an iphone (LOL) and under surveillance, i also know that there will be more pics soon, with a nikon camera, probably more time and a different model not the beer belly guy.
Easy as DELL !!
What OS choices will it have? (not XP vs Vista, I mean, will this be one of the ones that Dell supports Linux upon?)
Looks like it'd be nice at a $500 price point. I'd probably get one, if it has vendor supported linux on it.

is somebody holding their penis in the reflection????
If they can get it to me at 500 or under with Linux preinstalled I might be sold.
Am I the only one that thought aperture science when they saw this?

NO you were not... and the cake is a lie.
Will this be replacing the XPS 210? that thing hasnt had a refresh in ages, I currently own one and wouldn't mind replacing it with this.
that reflection looks mightily like the stress test lab at Intel's JF3 facility...
Aperture Science...
We do what we must because we can...
For the good of all of us...
Except the ones who are dead...
Well now we know that whoever is leaking these picts, assuming it isn't Dell themselves, isn't getting it from the training site. They don't have a single picture of this case on the site, which makes it a massive PITA to take the training tests....but of course the management doesn't care...."just get it done"
whatever.
I was kinda wondering what they meant when in the training it said remove the "sleeve". I guess now we know.
PS- *sighs* OK I need the weekend. OBVIOUSLY those pictures were on the sneek. Nothing sexy about those picts to suggest marketing shots...duh.
In real life it a silver grey plastic colour and uses laptop memory
Looks cute...
Would be nice if they made a translucent orange laptop hybrid or a bamboo hybrid...
I'm not a big fan of seperate computers and monitors...
Laptops rule!!!
This is so cool...
Love the clear plastic...
ish...
I work for a company called enano computers that makes the same size and has been making it for a couple of years.. we offer XP and will through Jan 09.. also has firewire.. and linux as well
This pictures were taken in the Guadalajara Mexico, Dell's branch, actually those guys that took that pictures were fired, this i know because a friend works there.
this is great achievment by del but will create lot of problems as it is very fragile and also it ejects the cd only in th eoperating system
