I use printers with Vista all of the time. I take my laptop to school sometimes and i just connect to the network and if it is a new printer being connected to, it downloads the drivers and installs them automatically. I don't see what is wrong with it.
Although I will be making the switch to Apple soon, I do feel for the dozens of people who've worked so hard on getting Vista ready, yet it seems that their work has been so unpopular that it may become the shortest lived Windows version ever. That must be one hell of a blow to ones ego.
Drivers aren't much of an issue anymore, its just fun to make fun of the situation. The real problem with Vista is the higher cost of a baseline workstation for zero benefit in networking or security. I'm running Server2008 because its a good operating system. A robust upgrade from 2003. Vista on the other hand has ZERO features that I need in a business environment with higher initial cost and maintenance costs.

Well there's got to be something wrong with it if there is not only a demand for XP loaded new PCs, but that it has also become a selling point (e.g. the often referred to sign http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/microsoft/archives/130626.asp).
