Or a Windows computer with Media Center. If buying at a retail location check the performance score if it's a Vista machine first. A dual core or greater CPU would be best for multitasking.
Macs are great and all, but why should you get a Mac over a cheaper Windows machine if all you want to do is play some media? You don't need a top of the line computer for that, you could do fine with as little as $400. On top of that, you want to use it with a Zune which is only compatible with Windows and not with OSX.
Oh I'm not saying you're an idiot because you don't know what bootcamp is. I'm saying you're an idiot because you obviously know Zune wont work with Mac OSX yet you still ask for the best OS? AND you plan on getting a Mac.
Just get a damn iPod. I hear they work well with Macs, AND you wont have to install a whole new OS.
Based on the stated requirements (principally the Zune aspect), I'm inclined to suggest a Windows Vista-based system, despite the fact that I'm a Mac user. You can use a Zune with a Mac via at least Boot Camp (I suspect that a virtualised instance of Windows running under OS X via either VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop would work too), but it's a lot of messing around and additional expense that probably isn't worth it. Unless there are particular Mac applications that you want to use then I'd suggest going with a Windows system unless you'd be prepared to switch your Zune to an iPod.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1, much like its Limited Edition sibling that we reviewed last month, is ever-so-slightly thinner than the iPad 2, a slate that most sane individuals (and competitors, for that matter) would confess is the market leader today.

what is the best OS to get if you have a zune and you like to use your computer for multimedia purposes and multitasking
Get a mac and pray that MS puts out Mac support for the Zune. That or get an iPod.

Tom's Mac suggestion makes no sense.
Thank you Tony
the zune minimum requirments say mac OS X10.5 with Boot Camp 2.0
what is Boot Camp 2.0
Sorry I am new to Macs
Well, when software companies successive versions of the same software, they'll put a number at the end of the name ;) .
Na but really, Boot Camp is a utility that allows you to choose between the Mac Operating System and a version of Windows.
livefire, you're a fucking idiot lol.
@livefire.
Do not concern yourself asking "what is Bootcamp?" If, you do not plan on buying a Mac.
@Reaperm81
I actually do plan to buy a mac before the month ends
@Abuzar... dude. it could be a 12 year old kid. chill out
