ASUS Eee PC 1000H torn down in exquisite detail
Shortly after the ASUS Eee PC 1000H was unboxed by the lucky folks at Tweaktown, these same cats have given the world at large a look within. A startlingly good look, at that. Unlike most dissections that come our way, this one includes a half dozen pages of tear down pictures and commentary to go with it, giving you more detail about this wee laptop than you could ever want to know. Just kidding about that last part, we know you want to know.

Scythe @ Jun 23rd 2008 8:21AM
Exactly. Some Apple fanboys don't seem to get it.
Franksta @ Jun 23rd 2008 8:27AM
Yeah apparently Asus is working with Apple on a slate touch laptop at the moment as well.
Astrostream @ Jun 23rd 2008 8:27AM
That's why I think ASUS has learned from Apple how to design laptops! They are getting there, but at the same time they are getting greedy. $550-$650 for mini-laptops!!! Come on?
Derk Kooi @ Jun 23rd 2008 8:27AM
Wow, that comment was too stereotype to be true.

I'm sure it can't run crysis on full settings.

C´m on guys , what's the point in answering that moron (ocean) or his hideous kin?
Let's talk about the eee 1000.
I find it tempting but does anybody know if it would be all right for light sound editing and possibly a bit of video too?
Flashpoint @ Jun 23rd 2008 9:12AM
Eee PC has 3 USB Ports and 56k and Ethernet.
all it needs is a 100 GB SSD drive (coming soon) and your macbook air will be worth less than a coaster.
Limp Man @ Jun 23rd 2008 9:13AM
No apple boy think apple grown in tree.
lance @ Jun 23rd 2008 10:24AM

NANOWARE is next! so small it fits in your ear canal.

All things being the same, whether or not they actually are, I'd buy this over a macbook simply to not support Apple. They're manipulative, anticompetitive, and if OSX killed windows instead of Ubuntu doing it, we'd find ourselves in a worse world.
Luckily, they don't have the sense to license their OS like, you know, an actual OS.
