Just bought the DNS-323 last night (July 2008)...early thoughts.
Hardware installation couldn't have been easier...seriously...swing off the front plate, slide the drive in, close the door. I had a harder time finding the 'on' switch which is in the front, not the back.
The CD utility 'Easy Start' is nice but I would have preferred to have seen it installed on the PC or completely web-based. No biggy...just copied the updated program file to my PC and created a shortcut. However, for most Newbies it's an inconvenience.
Flashed the firmware but the Bittorrent client is a real disappointment. No encryption so the download speed is dismal (haven't got anything better than 60 down and 15 upstream (I can often get sustained (400/90) with my regular server connection. Tweaking the router helped a bit.
Apparently an updated client can be added but I don't have the specifics yet.
Drive throughput is pretty good - easily saturates a 100mbps ethernet connection. I'll try it on my gigabit network and post the results here from some benchmarking tests (e.g. Sandra/HD Tach).
If anyone has something concrete on the torrent speed issue please post it here.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1, much like its Limited Edition sibling that we reviewed last month, is ever-so-slightly thinner than the iPad 2, a slate that most sane individuals (and competitors, for that matter) would confess is the market leader today.
