$179 DXG-567V HD camcorder uploads right to YouTube
Uh oh, DXG's creeping its way up into luxury territory. Earlier this year, we saw the outfit dish out a craptacular $149 HD camcorder, and just a few months back we were introduced to the $169 DXG-569V. Now, it'll take another Hamilton in order to rightfully claim its newest unit, the DXG-567V. The pocket-friendly cam is available in four different hues, ships with rechargeable AA batteries and uploads directly to YouTube and other video sharing sites without much hassle at all. DXG claims that this bugger captures video at 1,280 x 720 (30fps), but even at $179, we have our doubts about the overall quality. Better watch out though, by this time next year you'll see DXG perched up beside Sony, Panasonic and the rest of the respected gang.

why would you want an HD camcorder to post on youtube?
Bob Sintas @ Jun 26th 2008 7:11PM
Errmm... why not?
kccboy2004 @ Jun 26th 2008 7:01PM

You don't get anything for posting a comment, so why the useless clutter?
heshmati4 @ Jun 26th 2008 7:06PM
HD... Yah Right.
AcZ @ Jun 27th 2008 12:44AM
Actually i have a similar quality DXG cam , the image is pretty good , yet the sound is not "HD"

craptastic 720p cams are fun. I have an aiptek a-hd and a kodak z1275. I would imagine the article cam does its magic in h264.

I don't understand this product. First I thought finally a cool phone that doesn't look like the iPhone and it's just a camera????Seems like we are still in the age where phones become camera's but no camera becomes a phone.
NEXT!!!!!

First of all don't bring iphone into this, clak will come running and rant about the crappyness of you tube and how sweet quicktime is. Second of all how does this "upload right to youtube," does it have wifi or something or do you still have to use a computer?
TheGasMan @ Jun 26th 2008 8:33PM
That was an incredibly bizarre and useless post. I commend you.

"HD" seems to be the new buzzword thats being thrown around for this year, as everyone is using it in improper ways.
For instance on youtube. Since they upped their quality to a measly 480x360, people are like "Whoa, you can really see the HD" & "Damn, I wanna know how I can make my videos appear in HD too. Durrr".
TheGasMan @ Jun 26th 2008 8:34PM
Agreed, except this camera actually does shoot in HD. 1280x720.
ajoan0077 @ Jun 27th 2008 11:37AM
Just because its 1280x720 does not mean its "HD". Yes 1280x720 is and can be HD but what makes it true HD is the fps. 720p runs at 60fps while standard is 30fps and 1080p is 50 fields per second. So if the camera runs at 1280x720 at 30fps it will look like crap. it will be like watching a you tube video on a 42' TV.
aktiveradio @ Jun 26th 2008 8:25PM
So does it have wifi, because without it it's not direct to youtube. is it g or n?
KC @ Jun 26th 2008 8:53PM
This isn't so bad to use as a helmet cam or to stick it under the bumper of the car for some spectacular videos, or even to put it on a kite for some aerial shots (at 3.17 ounces... gotta think about this).
MAG @ Jun 27th 2008 2:32AM
I think they are great and priced right too...
Apoorva Iyer @ Jun 27th 2008 4:23AM
Ok,I don't know if many people know this, but this is what google defines "bugger" as
Definitions of bugger on the Web:
# sodomite: someone who engages in anal copulation (especially a male who engages in anal copulation with another male)
# sodomize: practice anal sex upon
So,the camcorder is a bugger?
:P

I have this camcorder it is a camcorder only no stills.
Also yes it is small and cute has no flash for night shots main drawback also you have to pay $30.00 to get the videos out of hawk so to sp[eak due to the program it works with.
but i have carried it around because of it's size and it does take decent videos so yes i will still get a FLIP it has built in storage space where this one does not i had to buy a memory card for it..so well I think the voice pick up could be better and i guess i am complaining ha?
It does need some improvements...

30 Bucks for what??? I have the 169 version and it works pretty good, its not phenomenal quality but for the price I could care less if it flys off my motorcycle or my daughter throws it out the car window... It does decent video and I can pull the files directly through a card reader...
Only downside battery life sucks... Carry a couple sets... However Now that I have the N95 I might be carrying it around a little less.
Eric Moritz @ Jun 27th 2008 1:16PM
30fps, lame. I'd much rather get the Aiptek HDV21X and get 720p @ 60fps
