A look back on popular stories from today in a specific year.

Nothing works with in game music, I'm going to check that video to see what game was that
Sony lied to us.
They told us that 'most' games will work with XMB
They should have told us that most games will work with SOME features of the XMB like web browser, trophies, friend list and messaging...
and that some other features (mention in game Music here), will work with future games developed specifically for firmware 2.40 and up (so we have to wait 3-6 months to see this).
Then, their announcement would be serious, but not, as always, Sony promising things it shouldn't say
I am so angry, I will even sell my PS3, but Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo Prologue 5, the silence that this machine is (compared to my Cesna, I mean, Xbox 360 with Intercooler), make me love it
I am afraid to turn my Xbox 360 on, I'm afraid to see a Ring of Death sooner than later.
So, the solution is to buy games in X360 if they are only made for X360
Connect your PS3 to the same monitor that you use for the computer (I have it like that in my room)
and enjoy in-game music from iTunes, and play the game, all in a very nice (modest, but working) solution from your own home.
If you play your PS3 on your living room, but a dock speaker (bose has a good quality), and done
Forget about sues, copyrights... and the battle between PS3 and X360.
If the guys at PS3 made a better machine, then I'm sticking with that one, I don't care the work around, there is a work around, and in 3-6 months, PS3 games will include XMB compatibility

Uhh... did you read Playstation.blog? They said (about two days ago) NO games will work with music or trophies at the launch of 2.40 with the exception of trophies on Super Stardust HD.
The videos released pre-update said that all old games would have to be patched in order to support in-game music and trophies...All the developers have the stuff they need. It's wether they decide to spend the time or not.
Is may be just me, but I was expecting to be able to play my own music whilst in a game, im sure you can do this on the xbox 360 :-(

at leats i can count on my system to work. u know its easy to be at the top (actually ur not since wii is) when u have no competition (aka launching first) but the true champpion is the one that can find ways to stay there.
at the ps3 current life span it has outsold the 360 at its current life span when launched. all they can continue to do is drop prices since they are out of tricks.
If u find gta entertaining u must have the satisfaction level of a 4 year. it was the same crap rehashed. the graphics were not even anything special. The nicest thing about the game were the way the NICE cars looked. The online modes are crap the game got very boring very fast i know im not the only one cuz i have discussed it with many others on forums boards.
I mean what really does crapbox 360 have left to bring to the table? multiplatform games that get dumbed down because they cant handle what the ps3 can? or the exclusive crap they pay for just to try and stay head. really it doesnt impress me and time tells all battles.

I think you have that bit about multiplatform games being dumbed down wrong. They are actually "dumbed" down for the PS3 because developers can't develop for it very easily. So
Just finish installing, andter reboot the the startup music plays I can see the sony internaiment logo and I have NO ICONS the remote LED's are blinking...

There is no deception they warned from the outset it would not work with any games as it is each game needs to be patched by the devs. and its totally optional for the devs to do it. so dont expect every game to get it
the first video had the guy playing custom music during Pixeljunk Monsters I thought.. it is kind of a deception if it doesn't do what was sort-of advertised. They should have released a patch for Pixel Junk Monsters at the same time as the 2.40 update.
Wow .... 8 more updates and 1 or 2 more years and PSN will catch up to where LIVE is now. Good job SONY.
It's agreat update and I don't care what all you xbox folks say. In game music ( if any games support it) is good idea, soon we will have cross game voice & video chat, do that xfux. Also achievemets, they will be good as long as they carry some sort of Down Load Conent with them after you achieve it. Other wise FAIL. being able to pair my BT headset while mid game is nice. especially when I have to replace the batteries. No longer do I have to repeatedly press the "PAIR" button for about an hour before it pairs up. Thanks that all I wanted out of this. They did however mess up te friends list. with us now having to hit triangle just to see messages that were sent to us, before you jut click on the name. Now you clik on em and up comes their trophies. MMMM fail. its annoying to haveit like that. It's( trophies) is of little significance for me. I just want the friends set up changed back to the original and you only see their trophies when you click that option. Oh and something you Xfax don't and never will hve. Life with PlayStation, our Live, Real Time, World news and weather service. Also you guys don't have Home(well neither do most of us yet) Home kills live dead. kinda like raid( you're a bunch a roaches anyways) Go on now, scurry back into your dark corners again.Hey wha do you call a hooker who's got no vag left? No what you are referring to is lazy ports of 360 games. I am referring to games being made even because these companies say it would be unfair to give the ps3 more than the 360 when we both the ps3 can handle more.bluray to dvd. Bluray is being held back because of multiplatform releases.

Too bad this freakin update is not compatible with any games yet! I would rather wait until games support my music, instead of the PS3 telling me I cant play my music with these or any of my games.

Ah man its like everytime I turn on my ps3 there an update, and then its the 30 minute waiting game. when are they gona speed up the updates and make it modular like xbox's, instead of redownloading the entire os.
I wonder what update I downloaded last night. Oh well, I guess I have a job for tonight.
I just finished updating. It looks like a good update overall. But as always, I'm still disappointed that they didn't add the feature that adds the ability to charge the controller through USB while the system is in Standby mode.

Again ur right its my opinion but it did get boring. I know tons of people that stopped playing and have no interest in even finishing the game and we bought the limited edition. Its repetitive and the online is lame honestly Ive tried to go on for simple team deathmatches and it struggles to find people. yet i go online call of duty any day or time and instant games. It really didnt bring enough to the table to justify its long delay.
Now metal gear after all its years in development and i barely played any of the previous installments and never finished one of them. Definitely one of the best games in a longtime most people will tell you the best.
yes these features were available a longtime ago on Xbox but I dont see what the xbox could possibly add. Xbox has had problems working as is I wouldnt wanna add anything to screw it up. Ps3 has home coming. resistance has 60 player online game. I dotn know what the highest is on 360 but i know its not 60.
These are my views u dont have to agree with them. I just dont see any light in microsofts future look at their products. I use windows mobile I hate apple and I hate blackberry but windows mobile is being exploited more and more and wm7 cant come fast enough and microsoft has said they are not starting from scratch they are just going to modify what they have. So the same problems will persist.
Look at windows Vista has done nothing now they have to rush out another one. Microsoft is Notorious for their lack of innovation and I dont see this changing with the xbox 360. I am curious to see with their Danger acquisition aka sidekick phones.
Having played around with it, the update is great and much needed. However the number one feature I was hoping for in this update is not here. In game private voice chat.
When I play Hot Shots Golf online with my friends (no in game voice chat built in) we can't voice chat through the PS3 = lame. I hope this is coming....

Anybody not being able to get the update? Says the file is not found on the server anymore for me.
My ps3 is saying there is no new update, that i have the most recent (i never downloaded 2.40) i have strong internet connection, any help?
trophies? haven't seen anything other than an empty trophy folder. not that i completely suck at video games... just that i haven't seen anyone else with them either.
