We've seen plenty of robots that are capable of
showing their appreciation for music, but few have as refined a taste as this trio of bots designed by a team of UK artists and scientists, which have been trained to like punk music and nothing else. That was apparently done by employing "adaptive resonance theory," which allows the robots to build up a history of patterns relating to different sounds, and analyze songs on the fly, matching the patterns against other types of music it has already listened to. As you can see in the BBC's video available at the read link below, the bot's were apparently easily able to recognize a band that they hadn't heard before and, if you hurry, you can actually check 'em out first hand, as they'll be doing their thing at London's Institute of Contemporary Arts until July 5th.

trained to like Punk Music and nothing else - so the only way not to get murdered by one of them is to take along a boombox and play their favourite stuff everywhere? Thats a very nice future prospect...

I can't wait for Skynet and that Hadron Collider to duke it out.

GLADos on LHC vs. Skynet:
LHC nuked multiple times, according to detected particle paths. Ground shields blast. GLADos insists on referring to Skynet as Dave, and refuses to cease operations because there is still 'science to do'.
Humans take cover in LHC facilities, seal it off, and we somehow end up with the matrix a few years later.
Sounds like an interesting plot for Terminator 4..

You call that dancing?
Where's the electric slide, moon walk, cabbage patch, hustles, jitterbugs, shuffles, shimmys, waltz, two-step, polka, limbo, conga, and tangos?

In another story, Chris Daughtry, lead singer of the band "Daughtry", has gone missing. Police say there were signs of a struggle at Daughtry's california home, where cogs, bearings, circuit boards, and oil stains were found scattered throughout the premises. Chad Kroeger, lead singer of the band "Nickleback", and all three Jonas Brothers have likewise disappeared under similar circumstances. Authorities remain baffled and are asking the public for assistance.

Well I'm for robots loving music, but about genres that tend to blend, like Industrial and Futurepop, Acid and Chemical breaks, etc

WOAH, the picture is on the left of the article. You shouldn't switch things up on us like that. I was seriously confused and just sat there looking at the screen for five minutes crying in confusion.
Seriously dudes, keep the pics above the article, for my sake.
Love, Bunson

This is new? Clear Channel has had these nameless faceless genre exclusive pogo robots for years. They call them "listeners".
