Polymorph robot mimics human joints and muscles, puts curtain rings to good use
Using polymorph plastic, some curtain rods, electric screwdrivers, motors, and a whole lot of mad-scientist creativity, an Xrobots hobbyist created this organic-looking robot base. By using wooden sockets and curtain rings as hip joints, the designer is clearly going for a human-like creature of doom here. Knee joints are kept moving with four motors each while a network of bungee cords and strings will act as muscles and tendons. Meanwhile, electric screwdrivers provide power for rotation. The legs measure 26-inches tall alone, so it looks like he's on his way to a real beast here. Hit the read link to see all the raw materials and sit in awe at this monster in the making.

kinda disgusting?
So are we if you take our skin off
Hell, sometimes people are more disgusting if you leave the skin on.
Although I must agree, most times, skin holds the disgusting in, kinda like insulation.
first!
Yes, you are the first idiot so far.
Fail.
Also, I feel that I need some video to really care about this article.
EPIC FAIL!
wow... normally when idiots do this... they miss it by a couple of seconds or something cause they post at the same time as someone else...
you however missed it by a whole 7 minutes... way to go genius!
It took him 7 minutes to read the 6 sentence blog entry.
Actually there was a problem with the comments and they showed up after aprox. 10-15 minutes ;)
He didn't even read the article, it took him 7 full minutes to type: "first!"
Thanks for putting me on to this project Engadget. I spent the last few hours looking around his site. The guys a genies! Of all his other projects, this one looks to be the most promising. I'm more of your regular computer geek, but this actually looks kind of fun to me.
genies?
Yes, he grants wishes.
How do you not understand that?
I hope he can spare one, I could use some wishes. Especially if the genie is a hot devil that goes by the name Elizabeth Hurley.
monster...
... cookie pinwheel
And that's the beginning of the Terminator...
I was thinking Robocop
Neat work. Does it glow in the dark?
Oh no they are creating an army of Midget bots! maybe Umpa Lumpanators?
Hi, James here from XRobots.co.uk... the creator of Android 10 and the other projects on the site.
Thanks (I think) for all your comments, my original article seems to have been linked from all over the place at the moment...
I intend to finish Android 10 some time, but at the moment it's still exactly as pictured... so whether it will actually work on not is currently unknown ;-)
I love the excessive amount of tendons. Honda should hire this guy for the next-gen Asimo.
Excessive amount of tendons? You know many tendons you have in your legs?
This guy is brilliant. Im not evne talking about this particularly. I was looking at some of his other projects. To use those motors, he actually programmes a PICAXE chip connected to a DAC. The PICAXE is hooked up to a PC via RS232. When you hear people talking about stuff like that, youk now they are realy geniuses.
BTW, if you didn't understand that, you are not a computer geek.
