Keepin' it real AWESOME! I want one!
this came to me when i was reading this
"I take you to the Candy Shop" (50 cent)
It looks so real....
Also, those candy that came with it.... I love those!
@ Ayman
I feel so sorry for your ears at this moment in time
not so much fake, but very real, ive seen these things around
They should get rid of those! I thought it was a real Wiimote that came with free candy :(
They sell them at Fry's Electronics
those wacky sons a bitches
I soooo see this being an eBay scam in the making
Ha I saw them selling these things at Blockbuster!
I saw it at superstore (loblaws)
This.is.AWESOME!!!
My sister bought me one of those. The candy is not that bad, but the dispenser poorly made, the candy gets stuck all the time.
I don't see this qualifying as a "Keeping It Real Fake" segment as it seems to be a licensed Nintendo product as noted by the Official Seal of Quality.
That's what I was thinking.
And ironically we have the same name :o
They actually sold something very similar to these during the N64 days. They had a Mario, Young Link, and Donkey Kong styled after the N64 models under the same name: Klik. I've got all three, and as soon as I find the Wii-mote, will add that to the collection.

A 30 second google brought me this:

I saw this at a korean market in LA. I finally bought one a week ago.
I had one of these a few weeks ago, my little brother bought it from blockbuster or something like that... Half of the candy is like sweet tarts, and the other half looks the same, but it's actually really gross gum. The shooter doesn't shoot very far either.
Yeah, I saw it too at a Movie Gallery. I saw that it was officially liscensed so I moved on with my life.
It shoots out the RECEIVER. The sensor bar is the tranemitter.
that's what i was thinking
I saw one in a Walgreen and almost bought it.
Funny you should mention this, I bought one of these last Sunday on break at work, they have them at Walgreens.
wonder what the WARNNING says at right bottom corner.
looks like it says:
WARNING:
CHOKING HAZARD- Small parts
Not for Children under 5 years
WARNING:
CHOKING HAZARD - Small parts
Not for Children under 5 years.
WOW! same answer at the same time! :-)
Choking hazard: Small parts not for children under 5 years
Guess which part is the choking hazard.
ah! no candy for you kids!
It even comes with fake Smarties! I don't think I'd eat those though.
They look more like rockets
Here I was getting all excited that PEZ was making a comeback.
"exactly", except they are about half the size....
I just got one of those, actually.
The fake Smarties have a PEZ candy texture, and actually taste BETTER. The Smarties gum that comes with it as well...not so much.
It doesn't shoot very far, though.
Better than pez?
You, sir, are a liar.
that is hilarious, i need to get me one of those
HEY! I saw this at Bed Bath & Beyond!
Yeah, they have this one stocked and prominently on display at my walgreens as well.
I saw them at Mac's here in Canada-land if you're looking for one northwards. My friend was kind enough to point them out, and the fact that they do, in fact, appear to be officially licensed.
My girl has one of those. She pointed out the power button is on the wrong side.
I think your girl is wrong.
now if only they had a gatorade-shooting nunchuck...
Well, PEZ had one of those. Lemme see if I still have it. Either I or the pawn shop has (had) it. >.
Hah! Found it.... Aw man... its the same thing. But, at least its got PEZ in it!! Lol.
I just saw one of these the other day at my Walgreens in NJ.
Those have been around forever where I live.
It is highly, HIGHLY doubtful that you'd find a Nintendo seal of quality branded item like this in so many stores across the US without it being real. If it weren't, it'd be pulled pretty quick.
Anyone able to read the manufacture name and see where they're from?
If you look at the original picture on Flickr, you can just make out that it says "au'some" in the top left.
Good call, so I looked it up. The company is in NJ, USA and their .pdf product literature also mentions that it's licensed.
http://www.ausomecandy.com/ausome/product.html?action=detail&menuId=&productNo=205
there's a link at the bottom of the page for a pdf. WARNING: the au'some website is obnoxious and spews funny noises and such when you mouse over.
Sweet!
I bought this in the Nintendo World Store in NYC, so you know its approved, heh
I picked up a few at Walgreens a while back: http://www.flickr.com/photos/aeromat/2499007201/
They are cool to look at but really suck as dispensers. And the bubble gum? Pure nasty!
I bought one of these at a Dollar Tree by me...it's actually kinda cool! haha it shoots the candy out pretty far...fun for those boring days
Urban outfitters has had them or a while now. You guys need to get out more!
Saw one of these at Five Below last week. Wife wanted me to get one, but I relented.
Need one NOW.
Got one of these at the Dollar Tree.
pezz + bad translation + nintendo wii does well in sales = keepin it real fake(you mean AWESOME)
they were handing these out at the mall I put the candy in my girlfriends snatch and it shot out farther than this thing shoots, tasted better too.
Uhm.. one thing, the Wiimote doesn't transmit IR... it has a webcam, the sensor bar transmits the IR signals...
Yeah,
Got one of these.
When you press the button to "despense" the candy, the cover flys off and the rest of the candy fly out and onto the floor.
Also, the candy that comes with is is a putrid bublegum flavor.
Looks good laying on the kitchen table though.
P-O-I-N-T-L-E-S-S
That looks fantastic. My son would love one of those but I reckon he'd also get confused as to why the little hand on his wii wasn't moving, and candy kept firing off the TV!
LOL i bought one of these a couple weeks ago from my local superstore! There were 2 types of candies... and one was a gum, very misleading, and gross too. hahah. If done right u can launch those candies pretty far :D
Love engadget but do we really need to know what part this article is ( CXXIII)? Not only is it not funny but some poor bastard has to verify that the next number he is posting is correct.
"Ha ha..Hey Jim! Im not going to put 'part 1' I'm going to put 'part i' and then everyone will laugh at me." (two months later) "Yo....Jim. Whats the roman numeral for 38?" Jim:"Go fuck yourself"
OMG I have this!
