Look, this top ten celebrity child-rearing tips list of ours is gonna make it to the top, we just know it, and we're tired of hitting up family members to get stories out of the single digits. Luckily there's a better way. The robotic Digg
arm -- which appears to be slightly or entirely fake -- refreshes a page, detects Digg badges on the screen, and then moves the cursor over them to "manually" Digg the stories. Apparently the bot can Digg 1500 stories a day, but we're gonna need some more evidence than this joke vid (embedded after the break) to be convinced of this bot's actual, welcomed existence.

Sure would have been more interesting if he didn't talk in monotone.
wah? (he's been watching too much ghost in a shell)
I am going to go ahead and call this one a fake; see at 1:37
If anyone wanted to constantly digg stuff, they could have just made a mod/plugin/MACRO for their browser/OS to do a better job than this, not use this contraption.
I'm digging the cooling fan..
A worthy explanation as to why digg is garbage.
I agree, digg is still ok, but it has fallen far from the radar in terms of neat tech stories it once had. Its the classic case of media brainwashing, same thing that happened to the once, MTV, which, wait for the gasp!, played music on TV.
To this contraption? I dont believe it is real. It would have to have some pretty neat detection software to know WHERE the digg tag is on the screen, sure a robot can move a mouse, but I doubt this one is as real as it claims to be...
buried
How does it know which articles to digg? Or does it blindly digg all?
Maybe the author of this fake video just wants more diggs himself? o_O
Maybe he should spend more time working on the airflow in his case so he doesn't have to open the side panel and keep a fan on it.
Only 12 year old kids use Digg.
that's funny 'cause i've got one of those arms, and i made it when i was 10
Maybe he can use some of his mad robotic-building skills to install a cooling fan on his motherboard.
According to the vid, the developer was arrested for this. Which makes perfect sense, as everyone knows how police are just all over this type of horrendous criminal act.
Will it blend?
no, but i am sure it'd take 5 minutess to press the 'start' button on the blender...
haha, but not bett than my 'sister'...ya, nobody really uses digg...
buried...no mention of its abilities to play Doom, blend, post "i see what you did there," or avoid digging every flickr link posted.
Why not have the keyboard functions incorporated in the robot? that moving around seems unnecessary... I guess this is fake anyways.
You can find more info about robots doing cool stuff at http://www.internetevolution.com/author.asp?section_id=526&doc_id=155718&f_src=flffour
Probably leaves better comments than the average digger as well. Plus it might actually be interested in tech stories unlike the current crowd there.
So this is how Mr.BabyMan does it !
So this is how Mr.BabyMan does it !
ok, if it was real, the arm wouldnt be trying to find the down arrow by re adjusting itself 20 times. it would have been programed into the software to perfectly land on it. ie: the guy is controlling it
Or the keyboard would be programed into the acutal robot it's self. So all the robot would be doing is looking at the screen.
But this is fake it says at the end. Entertainment purpose only.
What's the deal with it linking to a pornstar video at the end?
I told them to use Greasemonkey instead, but they wouldn't listen...
