Ummm Douche. you cant USE a PS3 without bluetooth idiot. Your controller, remote, headset, and keyboard all use it (which I use every one of, every day.) A hardware option that they thought would be useful and thankfully included WITH the original console rather than make the user pay for add ons. (not to mention a hard drive).
Oh Grapist I forgot... ps3 has that gay little transfer to hard drive step just because they cheaped out on a half assed Blueray drive and a 8x dvd player.... kinda funny no? They spent millions on state of the art hardware only to put an inferior reader which bottle necks everything else... nice.
Well, in this case it's more like a computer, which I like. Oh, and upgrading the hard drive WON'T void your warranty, so installing game data is really a non-issue for me personally.
Daniel, I don't see why you decided my relatively short post required two posts (not to mention insults). The PS3 has a 2x BD drive, and it saves to the hard drive in part to reduce load times. Play GTA4 on both systems and tell me you don't appreciate the fact that the PS3 has a better load time.
The retort that "MSG4 IS coming to the 360, just check Google!" is laughable. First, saying "just check Google/Wikipedia" is pretty much saying "FUCK YOU, IT'S TRUE! I READ IT ON THE INTERNET!" More importantly, after doing the search, the first hit was a thread on a forum, dated March 31st 2007. Where it was stated that it was in fact an April's Fools joke. From over a year ago.
A) It does not matter that it's only 8X DVD. The PS2, since it came out years ago, only had a 4X DVD drive. Since all the new games are on Blu Ray and the new drive is faster than the old one, it's pretty much completely irrelevant. If it takes a little longer for you to watch the special features on your Dora the Explorer box set, I'm sorry.
B) A 2X BD drive is not "cheap". Try to find a good drive that's better (e.g., 4X) that doesn't cost a sizable percentage of the PS3 itself. Oh, and the PS3 came out when those would be even MORE expensive.
C) The PS3 gives you a bigger hard drive and the ability to stick in your own drive in part because of the hard drive usage. The biggest installation I have is for DMC4 (~4.5 GB), meaning I could install 17 or so games like that. Sony used BD discs so that more data could be put on a disc allowing for larger games with more graphics, features, etc. Unfortunately, we do not have affordable, reliable 32X BD drives at the moment, so the engineers decided to decrease read times by putting data on the hard disk too. Hell, if you can't stand installing multiple games you can delete the installs and wait a whole five minutes or so next time you want to play the game again. It's a compromise. Life is full of them.
This brings back memories of the Super Nintendo vs. Sega Genesis days.

Actually the hard drive installs only help. And not all games have
big installs. Bad Company, for example, only has a tiny 300mb install
and reads everything off the Blu-ray and loads very fast. Warhawk
only has about 900mbs and only big games like GTA have 3gb installs but who cares when you have a 40gb hard drive in the PS3's smallest form.
The PS3 is now the best console to buy, hands down. Has all the best
exclusives (Warhawk, Uncharted, MGS4, Gran Turismo 5, SOCOM, and two Final Fantasy games coming) and is an awesome Blu-ray player too. And all the great multiplatform games? Yea, it does those too. Not to
mention it's extremely quiet (no annoying fan noise), consumes less
power and with a click of a button you can install Linux and
emulators if you desire.
Oh, and 2.40 works awesome, and I don't have a single friend who had
a problem.

Well what I really care about most about the PS3 right now is when the heck Home is coming out!!!!
this is what happens when sony is in charge of developing any bit of software, ever. i used to be a huge sony fan, but then came:
ps3 dashboard, blu-ray profile 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 2.0, rootkits, sonicstage, vegas, every bundled vaio crap software sony ever made, the list goes on.
i will never buy another sony product as long as i have to use any of their software with it, including the ps3.
if thats your best exclusive list, that is pathetic ut3 is the only one i would even consider buying, but its on pc and 360...i wouldnt play any of those games for more than 10 minutes without getting bored. even if the game is amazing, single player games last 10 hours on average and then u throw the game away. highly addictive single player games (oblivion) and multiplayer are the only ones worth buying. even the highly renowned mgs4 is a flash in the bucket because there is no MGS4 online community. nobody is going to play it online when they have cod4. guarantee you cant find more than a few games on that thing in a few weeks, and everyone goes back to cod4.
my point is i really dont like people shouting out crappy no selling, highly overrated games that will not be remembered in a couple of months. i can say 3 games for 360, pc and wii that respectively outclass the entire list combinded. halo, starcraft, brawl. game over.
Halo: Well, I'll give you that, but the PS3 has Resistance and Metal Gear Solid 4 (Are you kidding? Plenty of people will be playing it online.). (And soon Resistance 2 and Killzone 2).
Starcraft: That is OLD. A DECADE old. I would've gone with WoW, simply because of its huge active fanbase.
Brawl: Haven't played, so I wouldn't really know. Looks like a fun party game, as were the other iterations.

The ps3 is an amazing console.
I own a ps3, an Xbox 360 and a ps2.
Ps2 is old and now that I have my ps3 I don't use it anymore so I'm planing to sell it to one of my cousins.
Xbox 360 is cool, Halo, Bioshock and Gears of War are my favorite games as of now (in the 360) but unfortunately I've had to repair my xbox more than 3 times due to the infamous RRoD, so I decided I was not gonna play Xbox anymore.
So as of now the only console I use is my ps3, I use the Blu-ray player quite often, I love to play DMC4 and GTA IV on my ps3 (cuz my xbox works like crap) and I'm waiting to buy MGS4 in a week.
For those who asked for good games on ps3 I can name (IMO):
Ratchet & Clank future :ToD (not the best but definitively funny)
MGS4
the 2 upcoming Final Fantasy Games
Devil May Cry 4 (not an exclusive but a great game nonetheless)
GTA IV (same as Devil May Cry 4)

Warhawk (do not own the game but I've played it on my friends ps3 and it's pretty cool)

the upcoming "Home" looks amazing too.
So as of now I have to admit that IMO ps3 is much better than Xbox 360, good games, blu-ray, free PSN, the upcoming Home and other features make it an amazing console.
MGS4 is not going to 360 anytime soon. Kojima was complaining that he was having a hard time cramming the game on a BLU-RAY disc, both layers, unless he is going to put out a 6-10 disc version of the game on x-box it's not happening. Also MGOnline is a big community. Lots of people playing. Sony has the best in-house developers in the industry bar-none. Naughty Dog, Insomniac, SuckerPunch, Sony Santa Monica, just to name a few.
MS lost Bungie and Bioware. They're too strongest, oh and after the whole GTA4 exclusive content I wouldn't look for another deal like that w/ 2K anytime soon. The Head at Rockstar was pretty upset w/ the limitations of the 360 and stated he is working on a Brand New IP exclusive to Sony. MS rushed their console out, but made it w/ the technology of then, Sony took their time and made a console w/ technology from the future.
By the time I got home from work (pacific time here) and fired up the PS3, the firmware was already yanked down. Not annoyed here. If I have to wait a few days for a better coded one, so be it. Not like I can't live without 2.40. I've got plenty of other interests and things to do in my life besides worrying about firmware.
I'm not having any problems. 20gb PS3 (with 120GB hdd). o well. As long as they fix it!

Hideo Kojima, the producer and director of MGS4, had to personally announce to the public that MGS4 will remain a PS3 exclusive, and that he would kill himself before it is released on the 360.
And Daniel, i think that HD dvd, (oh, which lost the hd war to bluray), would have a hell of alot more storage problems than blu ray.

The XMB sucks balls as far as i am concerned and the main reason and very vaild one is that you simply cannot access your music while playing a game. I ask myself how hard is it really to add this and shut some xbox fans up?
But really as soon as PS3 get there finger out there arse and make software that is more defined and can actualy challenge for an award at least.Untill then i will go round to my friends and play xbox online whether the PS3 updates its limited software.
OHH and btw MGS4 is probrably the second greatest game ever created first FF7 and is a great credit to kojima himself.
People keep saying MGS4 is going to 360. Its not a fact nor fiction. Whats really happening is that they are trying to use there money to do there talking and pay them to transfer the game to 360. Even tho he is denying it there is still a very VERY slim chance it can come to 360 but its like a 1% chance. I have all systems and people saying one system is better then the other is just your opinions. Im a fan of them all due to each system has there ups and downs. I like 360 for its online based playing, Wii for its new get into the feel of the game and ps3 for its features. Currently im playing ps3 due to MGS4 but once fable 2 come out for 360 im going to be playing that. I jump from system to system depending on what comes out. Since both systems do have good games even tho most games are on all there are the few titles that only come out for 1 system. So people who like one system and not the other has to stop dissing and just deal with it. I know im going to get some replys on this watch lol/

I'm so tired of the argument used against the PS3 that it "sucks" and there are no good games out for it. Mainly the XBOX360 users seem to rip that one out of their asses. To all of you PS3 users out there you have made the right choice, congratulations! You hold a machine in your hand (the original 60GB) that cost (i believe, i keep hearing mixed numbers about this) around at LEAST $1000 to MAKE. And for those of you still bitching about the price, the new ones cost only $800 to make. Such small numbers *cough*. The PS3 has 8 processors inside of the beauty. Let me explain to you that a Wii has one processor....*laughing* and i believe (correct me if i'm wrong, please) that that technology was around....oh....i don't know...the 60's. The XBOX 360 has 4 processors. okay, now we are getting somewhere. That's what about 90% of computers hold, hell, the computer i'm typin' on right now has four. So wait, am I telling you that the PS3 is TWICE as poerful as teh XBOX 360 and 7x more than the Wii?!?! No, it's even better than that, I'm not going to get into exactly how much more powerful it is, because I'm not 100% sure, but it is at LEAST twice as powerful as the 360. Also it has Blu-ray....so.....microsoft is royally fucked up the ass at the moment, and all the lil' kids still playing Halo (which is a mediocre game by the way...oh no, i just pissed off 3/4 of the entire 360 peeps) haven't gotten over the fact that there system took FOUR different REMAKES to get the system to where it is NOW...in my garbage can. The PS3 took two (and I'm being generous with that number). Nothing is perfect, but Sony has lost...3 billion on the system, so they obviously put something into it. So now the 360 people are trying to use that number against the PS3 fans. Well, to all of you idiots out there, which is quite a lot, Sony was smart in actually losing money. That means the PS4 will not have to be such a bitch to make, an it will be even better. So what I'm saying is that the next system won't have to be such a pain in the ass to make, they can finally sit down and relax...because they've already accomplished the main frame for the next system. The PS3 was and is still ahead of our time, and the reason "gamers" bitch and moan about it is because they don't have the time nor money to buy a system and wait for it to come and slap the 360 in the face so hard they won't know what hit them. The system is so amazing that even I don't fully understand it's potential. Now, iv'e done my homework, and i've watched and played the 360, and the wii, and i have to say that I'm bored of Microsoft's bullshit and of the Wii's stupidity. i'm ready for something seroius, something beauriful, and something that is not only changing the world of gaming, but the whole fucking world in general.
Sony, kudos to you, it's sad how stupid people are.

All of the rumors of MGS4 possibly going to the 360 were way before release. If you've been listening to any of the recent news, you'd know that since MGS4 has sold EXTREMELY well on the PS3, (>1 million on release DAY, and several millions more in the first few weeks), they are NOT going to be porting it over to the 360 because they don't need to and it probably wouldn't be profitable anyway because the PS3 is definitely on the upswing, while the 360 is arguably at or near its peak.
Why won't the people of the world ever grow up. Who gives a flying fuck about which machine is better, what is exclusive, wether it gives me a blow job, makes coffee.

please help, my ps3 has no internet anymore after i downloaded the new firmware. When i did the internet test on my ps3 it says that everything is fine but it saysthat the playstation network has an error. Does anyone know how i can fix it?
