All I need is XVID. I hate all this MKV, OGM or OMG.... w/e it is. All it does is confuse me, and a lot of the time, and limited computers such as pocket PCs have trouble handling them at a decent FPS.
I might consider this thing. The only thing I'm worried about is it lagging slightly when playing media. That's what my "divx" dvd player did. It would be nice to replace my linux box, which is loud as hell.
what do u mean by lagging? as in the video stuttering ? if ur network/wireless can't handle it/it's too far away, it might do that, but for me, wireless worked just fine, and wired even more enjoyable (menus got smoother)..
It may just confuse you, but for people that do know, MKV and OGM are superior to other formats. If you want softcoded subtitles and several language streams, then MKV and OGM are very useful. If you don't like it, just ignore it or post a comment on how the many different formats are annoying. Oh wait...
MKV is not a format, its a container. Theres no reason for it. The stuff inside an MKV is still DivX, XViD, h.264, whatever. It is a pain in the ass downloading something that is in a format a normal media center extender or 360 can play... but its in MKV so its useless.
