MobileMe now live, ready for you
Hello MobileMe, goodbye .Mac (and good riddance). Apple's synchronization and web application solution for your Macs, PCs, iPod touch or iPhone is now live. Push eMail, push contacts, and push calendar and a new suite of web applications are now yours for the taking. You know, after you hand over $99 for the first year or $149 for a one-year family subscription.
P.S. Things are loading slowly at the moment as the service comes up.
Update: As noted in the comments, the site is now down for most people.
Update 2: It's coming up again but it's still flaky as hell. We've managed to get to our calendar, contacts, and settings but Mail is still a no, no.
Update 3: And... it's down again. Nice going.
[Thanks, Tim]

And one itty bitty more question: Where's the "Homepage icon in MobileMe iDisk"??
Anybody able to spot it here? :

Or perhaps here? :

Perhaps there's a tantrum still being thrown about that old iTools feature even now, in the wee small hours . . . (I forgot it used to be called iTools myself!)
At this moment, rechecking iDisk within dotmac Prefs, it's made contact with my iDisk again to show usage/capacity, but still with the "classic" 10GB (less email allocation) capacity. But no Web access.
It's back up!! (for this writer, at least). And the mysterious aforementioned icon has been located, in the left sidebar on the iDisk tab. I'd share it with you, but Homepage is still AWOL.
And I just lost it again. Sheesh. Lame-o.
A few things you must hand it to apple for, once the web apps work:
Try typing "me" into the location bar. Nothing else. 'Zit work?
Then try "me/mail".
Then "me/idisk".
Like the man says: "Boom".
now it's actually up, reachable thorugh me.com (for me, in Germany)
