Samsung U4 thumb DAP gets further detailed

Samsung's U3 follow-up, the U4, already broke cover on a Korean website a few days ago, but that brief appearance unfortunately didn't consist of much more than a low res image of the device. The folks at Tevo have now thankfully cleared up the situation a bit, however, with a slightly better pic and some actual specs. Apparently, this one will be coming in 1GB and 2GB variations only, each of which will sport a 1-inch OLED display, along with support for MP3, WMA, and OGG formats, and a handy sliding USB connector. No word on a price just yet, but you can pretty safely bet this one will be on the low-end of Samsung's many offerings.

Or, you could just use the SGH-a727 that's already IN YOUR POCKET to play the same digital audio and carry less crap attached to your pants.
More butt is needed to fill those skinny-fit jeans. And for the sex-appeal angle to work.
They should have stuffed her jeans with bean bags.
They should have stuffed the POS in some chick's thong, that would have been much more appealing

You mean coitus appeal?
Poor photoshop job. At least an actual unit could have been plugged on those jeans.
Poor Photoshop job? More like, horribly amateurish Paint Shop job.
Harry - "Look at the butt on that...."
Lloyd - "Yeah, he must work out."
Just when I thought you couldn't get any dumber, you go and do something like this and totally redeem yourself.
Wooo an Ogg player.
Try doing that shuffle...
Is it U4? It looks like memory stick!
cute small size as a pendant.
I hope it's memory capacity is bigger than S2.
Hello Sony and welcome to year 2005.
it's Samsung
lol
Sony?
its a Sony ripoff...only the NW-E and its sisters look a lot better
Ugly! I'd rather get the Olinari Usb dog tag pendant. function and style.

It looks like the key chain of a truck driver.
Ogg Vorbis is welcome.
1) FLAC http://flac.sourceforge.net
2) removable battery (so we have power even on long trips)
3) removable storage (so we can decide what and how much we wanna carry or quickly swap)
...would be more welcome.
Of course this might raise the price $5 but would be something more unique and useful compared to pumping out the same product in different shell every year, IMO.
Not all of use use portables purely on the street with tinny earbuds. Some use them at home with big 'phones. I don't see why FLAC support couldn't be added, provided the unit itself sounds half-decent. Not all of us want to carry our whole collections with us, so these devices are a nice small compromise but they have the potential to be more if a manufacturer decides to put a little more thought into things.
