We pretty much
knew it was coming, but Microsoft just officially announced the Lips karaoke game official. Just like we'd heard, the singalong title will come with a motion-sensitive mic that lights up in time to your voice. The game interface is somewhat similar to Rock Band or Singstar, where you have to hit various pitches accurately to rack up points -- but in addition to the game content, you'll be able to sing along to your own music off a Zune or iPod.

So wait, does this mean this is the motion controller we've been hearing so much about?
If so, good. I don't want MS trying to imitate the Wii and alienate their fanbase in the process.

I agree... companies imitate too often without innovating. If Microsoft attempts an actual motion controller... it had better be something we've never seen before.

That's pretty much what I was wondering... It would make a lot of sense.

I wonder how the lyrics would be pulled when you sing to your own music.

This game will FAIL big time. Who would want to embarrass themselves by singing? Not me. I'd rather embarrass myself with guitar hero.
Matt @ Jul 14th 2008 5:12PM
Hmmm.... you may have just embarrassed yourself by stating "Who would want to embarrass themselves by singing?" should have stated this when they made Singstar, or American Idol, or Rock Band.....
silverblackvoid @ Jul 14th 2008 11:48PM
you've already embarrassed yourself with the lame comment
rita hainsworth @ Jul 14th 2008 4:48PM
ohhh...a little light-up vibrator.

That thing is bad because most of us sings awful and hearing it even throw walls - from your neighbor - outrageous and headache making.
Come on! Forbid it to use in large cities!

O.o! Pretty!
Will it work with Rock Band???
