If they put 3G into the iPod Touch, they'd have to get a service provider to provide a connection, and no one would provide the service for free. (Unless you're desperate for business like Sprint in their agreement with the Kindle.) If they charge for the net usage, it becomes virtually identical to the 3G iPhone minus the camera and Bluetooth.

They ran iphone hooplah perpetually and certainly didn't play up the fact that 2.0 OS has been BRICKING IPHONES.
And not just unlocked iphones. Its been bricking 1st generation, legal iphones.
