Samsung NV100 and NV9 digicams make the scene
Samsung's been jacking megapixel counts all over the place lately, and the Korean giant's latest digital cameras are no exception -- the new NV100 HD (pictured) packs in a ridiculous 14.7 megapixels, and the new compact NV9 tops at 10.2 megapixels. That's probably a little ridiculous, but we're not going to argue with progress, and the cameras seem pretty nice: the NV100 HD has a 3-inch touchscreen, a 3.6X Schneider Kreuznac lens, face, smile, and blink detection, 720p video recording and ISO3200 sensitivity, while the NV9 sports old-school analog battery and storage meters, as a well a 2.7-inch display, optical image stabilizer, and smile and blink detection. Both go on sale in August -- check out the NV9 after the break.Read - NV100 HD

umm, ok. *low ranks*
The megapixels are so-so. Don't get me wrong... 14 is better than 12, and 12 is better than 8 but maybe it's time to stop referring to the sensor's pixel count by a number which is SUPPOSED to increase exponentially. Instead let's just talk about the vertical pixel count of a normal frame 4:3 image.
Which by the way... has me interested in this camera for it's 720p video capability.
The 720p video is really good for a pocket camera. It even records sound. Unfortunately, the camera doesn't record sound while you zoom. (This is based off my use for the NV24HD.) I really like my camera.
NV100 HD does have sound when you zoom!!! that is the great part!!
I just bought the NV24HD and I really like it. I don't see myself upgrading to the 14 megapixel model anytime soon, but it's nice to know the H.264 720p recording feature isn't going away from Samsung's line of pocket cameras.

How many days left until u r torched for not having an iphone?
These look interesting, but I only have one question. Is the LCD screen visible in the sunlight?
What the fuck does your comment have to do with this post? Sheesh!
No one noticed the analog gauges on the NV9, eh?
