JATY's multifaceted DR7200 navigator doubles as breathalyzer
Believe it or not, JATY is far from being the first gadget maker to think of stuffing a breathalyzer into something completely unrelated (like a wristwatch), but this do-it-all navigator really has included everything save for the kitchen sink (and an N64 emulator, but you get the point). Specs wise, you're looking at a 7-inch touchscreen, 533MHz CPU, WinCE 5.0, 64MB of NAND Flash / SDRAM, an SD expansion slot, built-in GPS / T-DMB receivers, USB connectivity, integrated speakers and support for MP3, WMV, OGG, AC3, MPEG1/2/4, DivX, XviD, AVI and JPG formats (just to name a few). Chances are you'll never see this on US soil, so you're looking at a flight to Seoul in addition to ₩296,000 ($294) in order to procure one.

That is seriously ingenious- better than pacing around until you feel like you're "good to go" and not as embarrassing as having a little stand-alone breathalyzer in your door pocket. :)
When can we get it on a Garmin?
Jay @ Jul 16th 2008 12:00PM
...
How is that unrelated?
You use navigation to drive... If you're over the limit to drive, you shouldn't drive...
I don't know, if I had 2 shots about 1.5 hours ago, I'd like to know if I'm legal yet. Drinking and driving is bad, yes, but I socially drink 2~3 drinks over 3~4 hr period. Don't hate.
And it's always funny to see Korean on engadget. Makes me miss the food (and tech and cheap stuff)

Where do you blow into this thing..?
jason @ Jul 16th 2008 12:04PM
why is there an iphone in there?
Pochi @ Jul 16th 2008 12:06PM
That is obviously an iBrethalyzer.
waterwagen @ Jul 16th 2008 1:34PM
Exactly what I thought.
Homeboy @ Jul 16th 2008 2:11PM
Yeah! It's as if every news that's been posted lately is iPhone related in one way or another.
Pochi @ Jul 16th 2008 12:05PM
lol check out the skull and crossbones
Josh L @ Jul 16th 2008 12:20PM
Anyone read Korean? What does it say next to the skull and crossbones?
dk @ Jul 16th 2008 12:32PM
it says "warning."
the lines underneath say:
"500,000 to 2,000,000 won ($500 - $2,000) fine & possible criminal prosecution"
"Please Do Not Drive!"
(Over 0.05%)
Buttons say:
"A link to related laws" & "End"
NHAnimator @ Jul 16th 2008 12:26PM
When you blow over the limit, it automatically displays all muchie-related POI's.

is that a 1 or a 7? :p I once worked on a guy who had a BA of 453, and he was still awake and breathing.
jinjin @ Jul 16th 2008 12:50PM
it reads DANGER
Irfan @ Jul 16th 2008 2:06PM
i wouldnt think a breathalyzer on a watch is unrelated either. you'd always have it with you.
JamesR @ Jul 16th 2008 2:12PM
Hopefully if you're blowing a 0.12% BAC you don't need a breathalizer to tell you you're took f'd up to drive...
If this was wired into the ignition that would rock.
sepirioth @ Jul 16th 2008 2:13PM
Is it just me or does the reader look allot like a phone people are still queing up for?
tyler @ Jul 16th 2008 2:44PM
Actually its just you.
Shane @ Jul 16th 2008 3:34PM
Based off my experience in Korea, this thing will be used by businessmen in suits who have been drinking since 2pm on a Tuesday, to see if they are drunk enough to go home to their wife, or if they should shack up in a love motel with one of the girls from the room clubs where he just paid $500 for a bottle of $60 jack daniels.
simple3 @ Jul 16th 2008 3:49PM
it should just give you directions to the nearest police station and/or emergency room if you blow over the limit.
