Microsoft launching SideWinder X6 keyboard this fall?
Say, is this a Microsoft SideWinder-branded keyboard? Looks like it might just be. It looks like it'll go by the name of SideWinder X6, and feature a detachable numeric keypad, programmable keys, and "cruise control" (don't quote us, this is from a translation) which emulates a steady keypress. It'll run $80 in September -- that is, if this doesn't just turn out to be pure rumor.
[Thanks, Husar]
Update: Reader RainMotorsports points out that the side profile looks, well, unconvincing. Certainly right, especially when you ask yourself where those giant knobs went. Hey, we never said this was a sure thing!

I think the side view is of the numeric pad only.
I like the looks, at least better than the logitech G15, that's such a fugly beast that I shudder each time I see it.
Knob on left is FM radio dial.
Knob on right is dimmer switch for living room lights.
Seems pretty obvious.
The side view is of a Microsoft Wireless 7000 keyboard, I know this because I have one on my desk.
I'm fairly certain that profile shot is of a Microsoft Wireless Laser Keyboard 7000 from the desktop set. Typing on one now.
The side-profile is of a Wireless Keyboard 7000.
I know because I picked mine up and looked at it from the side.
That's right, the image on the bottom (profile shot) is incorrect, and is actually a picture of the Wireless 7000 keyboard.
Correct images are included with this full review of the Sidewinder X6 keyboard:
