Panasonic throws down 6 and 12GB SDHC cards
Launching 6 and 12GB SDHC cards seems a little boring at this point, especially when your company has already gone way, way larger. Which is why Panasonic's got the 6 and 12GB RP-SDM06G and RP-SDM12G class 4 (10MBps) SDHC cards which are apparently "designed for HD recording." Love when they do that.

I bought a camera just a year ago, and it doesn't even support these (SDHC)... Now I'm really sad. ;-(
Jonxman @ Jul 19th 2008 4:49AM
Finally an sd card with the perfect size. 8 wasn't enough and 16 just too much, with the 12 I'm finally happy..

My friend just cut 1/4 of the 16GB card off... that was a sad day...
Kurian @ Jul 19th 2008 6:05AM
I actually have a MMC card with 1/4 cut off. It works fine. And it hasn't even lost 1/4 of its capacity :O

"8 wasn't enough and 16 just too much, with the 12 I'm finally happy.."
Damn, that's exactly the same thing she said to me.

SDHC is around for over the better part of last year
even announced 2 ( maybe 3 yrs ) ago
you should have researched it more in those days
I bought mine specially in mind of SDHC ( e.g it was "promised" tot go up to 32+ GB )
I'm useing it now with a 8GB card, and if neccesary I will upgrade
so 12 is a welcome ge-between

terenceyyk @ Jul 19th 2008 6:01AM
Now I request they release the 13GB version too.
Jonxman @ Jul 19th 2008 6:11AM
I think it's tricky to combine that exact amount of memory with the advertised HD-recording design..
Mitch @ Jul 19th 2008 2:29PM
wow, that is a serious low amount of memory for such as big card, and im sure in past, that these cards got even smaller! Don't you just hate idiots? :) insert advertisement for website here
k-pow!!! @ Jul 19th 2008 7:47AM
yeh its called a micro sd card
LondonConsultant @ Jul 19th 2008 8:06AM
10MBps is "designed for HD recording"?! Virtually all AVCHD camcorders record at least 11Mbps...
LondonConsultant @ Jul 19th 2008 8:09AM
Doh, I just noticed it was "MB" and not "Mb" - ignore my comment...
Sam Bambino @ Jul 19th 2008 8:21AM
Take a look at micro-SD! Any smaller and you'll need a microscope to handle them!
L.Rawlins @ Jul 19th 2008 8:37AM
Wake me when Sandisk actually launch the 16GB MicroSDHC card.
They were supposed to be out in June, and have been on pre-order around the net for the past six months.
Eyal Morag @ Jul 19th 2008 10:15AM
I feel better with the CF size harder to lose
thedesolate1 @ Jul 19th 2008 10:56AM
Hey they haven't even released enough devices that support the SDHC spec. I wish every1 updated their devices to take these.
maty @ Jul 19th 2008 11:14AM
Get outta here with your advertising.
John B. @ Jul 19th 2008 11:17AM
I'm glad they're designed for HD recording, I can't have smelly lower class SDHC cards crapping up my media library with their inferior recording capabilities. I have a question, though, will I be able to put Wii save files on this SDHC card? Are my save files hi-def enough for this thing to even process them? Man, technology gets more and more confusing every day.
Phoenix @ Jul 19th 2008 1:35PM
No. because the Wii does not support SDHC.
You COULD I suppose use it to store them, by taking them off a smaller card and onto this one using a PC. But then why not use a cheaper USB memory stick or the HDD of the PC? You're just wasting money
Eric @ Jul 19th 2008 2:21PM
I may be mistaken, but I believe it was a joke... the bit about "files being hi-def enough" was a clue.
Ricardo @ Jul 19th 2008 11:53AM
Ok, so what's so special about this? I just ordered a 8 GB microSD. Normal SD for me would only be useful for big capacities, like 32 GB and up. Because up to 16 GB there are (or at least will be in the near future) smaller alternatives.
SimbaDogg @ Jul 19th 2008 3:13PM
throw down the micro SDHC
Joe Kerman @ Jul 19th 2008 7:58PM
Panasonic cards have a reputation for being some of the fastest on the market, even though panasonic doesnt seem to market them that way....
You can expect 20MB/sec write speeds with the existing 1/4G cards.

Hi. I'd like to view my fucking profile. Thanks.
