Shuttle's SN78SH7 supports Hybrid SLI, launches Friday
Shuttle's SN78SH7 was briefly caught struttin' its stuff at CES this year, but after months on end of waiting, the thing is just about ready to start shipping to eager consumers. Hailed as the first small-form-factor PC to support NVIDIA's Hybrid SLI technology, this block can be equipped with AMD's Phenom X4 processor, 4GB of RAM and Windows Vista (among other things). No word on a price, but it should be quite apparent come Friday.

The bottom line is whether or not it can run Crysis.
Haven't gotten my "Low Rank" dosage for a couple days...been busy.
I was about to buy another shuttle for a HTPC but decided on gettting a popcornhour instead.. SLI on such a small box is pretty cool and HOT.
Not really, it is a technology desgined to, at least sometimes, decrease power consumption by putting the main GPU in an off-state and letting an onboard light graphics chip do the wok, and only switch the big one on the help there - so the perfomance gains over just the normal GFX may be negligible, but seeing as you only have an onboard chip on while browsing etc, which is a lot of time, the power advantages can be quite substantial.
At least theoretically...
how would this not catch on fire?
I just got mine today from newegg for $310. The components inside look very good, all solid capacitors. Shuttle really got it right with this new H type case. A lot of nice little improvements for this updated G case.
I was going to say I just ordered one yesterday too, comes friday - so newegg already has these, theyre out in the wild.
I ordered mine on Sunday. Newegg didn't even have any pictures on the web site. But now, it looks like the site is updated. I also paid $5 less. It was $304.99 and now it is listed for $309.99.
If this was ATI Hybrid Crossfire I would buy.
I like the case, and would love to have the opportunity to stick my choice of components in there.
It's not just a case. It's a barebone, so comes with case, PSU and mobo.
What an creative, original name SN78SH7. How is anyone supposed to remember that lol
What crap! So, Shuttle puts the PCI-E 16X slot last so you are forced to use a single slot card. Their Hybrid SLI is only applicable to their on-board GPU and whatever single slot card you can find. On top of that, since they are using the same exact form factor they've been using for YEARS, they're stuck with an anemic 300W power supply. Don't worry about overheating anything because you only have to deal with 300W.
I wish they sold just the motherboards so the enthusiasts could put them to good use.
how is the SLI configuration supposed to work with a 300W power supply, I'd say dead on arrival
